JUST JUNE
A simple, supportive plan (in brief)
J Just do your best
Just make a start
Just breathe
U Use your time wisely
Use your money wisely
Use all the skills you have acquired in your life so far
S Simplify your routines
Simplify your wardrobe Wear out all those not fit to be seen in public clothes. Stay in your pjs all day (add wellies for outside)
Simplify your life Think of all the things you love about lockdown (peace and quiet, less pollution). Work out what you want to keep
T Take time for yourself Pamper days. Write down all the things that make you feel better and include daily
Take time to think about others Some have lost jobs, homes, lives or loved ones. Food bank use is up. Many charities are struggling. Donate if you can
Take a deep breath and practice patience, even to those who are thoughtless or selfish. Turn anger to action (practical or political).
J June challenge runs from Jun 1st to midnight June 30th
June 30th concludes the first half of the year. I bet 'surviving a pandemic wasn't on your list of resolutions. Look at the second half of the year and set some goals.
June celebrations include Dare Day, Hug Your Cat Day and Hot Air Balloon Day, awareness days include World Bicycle Day, Environment Day and Food Safety.
U Use this thread to keep in touch and on track, celebrate your successes and accept commiserations and help when things go wrong
U should set your budgets before the start of the month
U should plan your meals, cook from scratch and allow for missing ingredients
N NSDs 15 for the month if possible
No takeaways, chain coffee shops etc. No problem - substitute fakeaways, virtual coffees with friends and virtual playdates for youngsters
No holiday? No problem - have a staycation in your own home, lie in the sun and read, eat ice creams and 'exotic' food, take virtual tours of museums, zoos, make your own adventure playground. Whatever you want - make it happen (children could dress up as/ make puppets of various animals)
E Exercise is essential. Make it fun. Put on some music and get moving (might help with the housework too)
Exercise your gratitude muscles by posting 3 things you are grateful for each day
Enjoy yourself. Make everything an adventure
