  • Haha I'm the same, I try to stay on top of the cleaning and tidying but sometimes just 10mins running round like a butter before someone arrives does enough to get into a good shape lol. Good luck for the spare room when you get to that task!

Hope May has a lovely time with her friend over and well done for not spending the extra on presents, definitely wasn't needed but I can imagine its hard to decide (I don't have kids yet but sure I will struggle with that when I get there!).

Happy Birthday to May and great news about the house!  Fingers crossed the mortgage approval comes through quickly :)

I didn't realise myself about the rules around renters rights - good to know as I rent and worry that my landlord may sell up! He too is a good landlord. Would love to buy this place but its not gunna happen.

Soooo tidying up didn’t go completely to plan in the sense that I just didn’t have the time to do everything I wanted to. The rooms look tidy and sorted. They are half sorted but I’ve taken anything that hadn’t been put away or that didn’t have a home, away and put it in the spare room...... you can not even see the floor on that room. Let along get in it. So I have a mammoth job at some point trying to sort that out. I did manage to Hoover the children’s play room and make their beds and bleach the toilets. Amazing what someone coming to your house can do for your tidy up motivation!

Just waiting for the dough to rise so we can make pizza!

I went shopping and went to both Lidl and Tesco in the pouring rain. And spent £36.20. £10.50 of which was Clubcard vouchers. I followed my list to tee! Which should last us until next Tuesday.

OH is in London having his checkup, hopefully all is ok. I feel stressed to bits. I just want to chill out and relax and sort through spare room. But had so little sleep I’m exhausted now. Still need to make pizza with the children and then take May’s friend home. Have work for 6 hours tomorrow too 😢.
The number of times I have done the stash and dash when expecting visitors 🤣 Make a commitment to yourself that you are going to spend a set amount of time (15, 20 or 30 minutes) each day tackling the spare room/dumping ground until it is done.

Homemade pizza yummy and a good activity with the children, double win.

Your shopping today came to considerably less than the £50 you were contemplating spending on extra presents.
That is a lot of winning at life right there 😀

I hope everything goes well with OH's check up.

Pizza went down a storm! I really enjoyed making it with May and her friend. I made it look like I knew what I was doing and I think they were impressed! God I’m knackered. Have a client that wants a phone conversation shortly. It’s the last thing I want to do. I need to do the dishwasher and have a shower before OH gets in but I just can’t be bothered!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. This is probably the least I have spent on a birthday, and the first time we haven’t had a proper party, and the first time I haven’t made an epic cake or bought one and the first time we haven’t spent loads on either a meal out, takeaway or special meal. The pizza cost pennies.....Actually I just worked it out and for 4 of us it was £2.34 in total, and most of that was on the crudités I served up!!!! Feel very proud of myself and the children LOVED making the pizza.

I love all the dash and stash chat! I’ve just looked at the spare room and then came back out again. I have looked at my timetable and I should have time to look at it, I mean do something with it, on Thursday.

Had 2 setbacks financially. My client has cancelled for 2 weeks so that’s £100 I’m down, and another client isn’t coming back. So that’s another £100 a month that’s not happening. So I’m going to really struggle to get the money together for the tax that’s due.

But in other news I have been asked to do a whole days work with some teenagers. I’d been recommended! Which is always nice, which will hopefully be £100-£120.

It sounds like May had a fabulous birthday..well done you!
Fingers crossed the teenager work becomes regular to replace the cancellations.

    Hi,
Sorry I didn't post yesterday. Such a long day, in and out of work in the morning then home and spent another 3 hours sorting stuff then had to go back to work for the evening shift. It's been another super busy day where I have got very little done. Am absolutely exhausted and have work in about 20 minutes for an hour. Not sure how I'm going to get through it!!

Sorting wise I am trying to do a little each day. So I've finished the play room. Need to do the children's bedroom, then the awful spare room that we still can't see the floor in. Then the lounge, which is just shelves and 2 drawers, found lots of wonderful things under the sofa when I pulled it out earlier, included lots of Roo's toys and an unused tampon, that the cat had obviously wandered around with thinking it was a mouse!

Still have the kitchen, oh and the shed. Oh and the bathrooms and the drawer in the bedroom.... so basically lots!!!!! But I should have a nice long time tomorrow, as OH is out and the children are at school, mind you I'm in work at 2..... hopefully I can make it more 1530, but it depends on whether someone is happy to cover that time.

Haven't spent much today, will update you after my class as I have to put small ones to bed!
