Ok....... have calmed down. OH has said that the business will pay for the windscreen. And my lovely friend has organised a surprise cake for May! So that’s going to save some money as I was going to make it today but other things got in the way. Am going to add that £10 to the shopping fund. Which is just as well as I was very optimistic in getting the shopping for £25 for ten days worth including cat food!Have sat for the past couple of hours and taken my extensions off. Somewhat painstaking. Nails look a mess but May said she’s going to paint them for me 😊. Bless her heart. So will cancel my appointment tomorrow. Need a cuticle push back thing and little scissors as my nails would look better with that too. Going to go back to dying my own hair. So that’s £40 a month now to throw at the tax bill. Am also going to try and do some more surveys to build up a small contingency.
Going to make chilli and rice for dinner tonight, children are having pasta that I froze. If I stretch the chilli it should feed both me and OH for 2 nights and feed the children as burritos for tomorrow too.Breakfasts for this next week will be porridge for me and wheatabix and toast for OH and either crumpets, cereal or toast for the children.
Lunch for me will be toast and fruit, sandwiches for OH and pack up for children.
Dinners will be:
tuna pasta
chilli x 2
chicken curry x 2
chicken stew x 2
pizza and wedges
Dad has asked what day we can pop round for dinner so I’m going to say Thursday so that’s one less meal to cook.
Going to make some banana bread instead of cereal bars and break up a little bit of the many Easter eggs into it.Thank you so much for all of the food suggestions. You are such a lovely lot. I’ve looked at Olio today, and there’s very little in my area. But will have a look at the food coop things. TooGoodToGo I’ve had a look at so might sign up for that As I think there’s a Morrison’s one. Might try and get a lidl box on Tuesday too.Going to have a look at your YouTube suggestions too! Love a cheap meal! Thanks so much again. Do need to start dinner!6 -
I’m so glad you are feeling better.Flapjack is another good treat on the cheap. Seems to taste as good with stork as with butter and you can jazz them up with sultanas, cherries, chocolate or whatever is knocking around in the baking cupboard.Frozen garlic bread slices are cheap and cheerful and great to have alongside bolognese, etc. to pad it out on its second day.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Oh no, sorry to hear about your windscreen but good that you can get it sorted through the business. How wonderful of your friend to organise a surprise cake!
I decided a long time ago that I couldn't justify the cost of getting my nails done professionally, so I bought a UV gel kit off eBay. I think it was about £20, but it was well worth it. To be honest, I only usually bother now for special occasions, but it's saves me a fortune compared to going to the nail salon.

Sorry things are so hard Missy ☹ And your windscreen too, how frustrating! Good to hear you feeling a bit more positive though, and with a good meal plan. Good work on your nails - you'll be able to have them done again at some point and that's a nice thing to look forward to 😊1

@WelshKitty85 I was thinking the same thing.... I might invest in future but at the moment I’m going to just stick with painting them.@Cheery_Daff of course you’re right, it’s nice to have something to look forward to.@w@WinterWarrior I forgot about flapjacks! That’s a great idea. I have oats and honey. I have 2 recipes I make quite often, not including the banana bread. I make jam thumbprint buns and yoghurt pot muffins. Nice cheap and easy!I’m currently sat on the sofa watching midsomer murders, with a cup of tea and a bar of dairymilk OH found in the cupboard! All of my guilty pleasures!
I made chilli and banana bread, I’ve also done the packed lunches for tomorrow, have put the dishwasher in and washed the children’s coats.
so I am happy to sit down.4 -
Oh my goodness! I need to tell someone as OH isn’t here! But we’ve had a mortgage offer accepted in principle! Which, in my whole adult life is the furthest I’ve got to getting a mortgage! I know there’s hoops to jump through but it’s looking positive! So happy!8
