We've picked up a 10 night holiday in Maderia for two for less money than it would otherwise cost for one flight!
Maderia was on my short-list for July when I was booking holidays earlier this year but the expensive flights put me off and I went for Tenerife instead - which I'm looking at rebooking for October. Maderia for Christmas is tempting...0 -
Do it. The weather can be a bit touch and go but our one time there at Christmas was glorious sunshine for two weeks. The fireworks for NYE are out of this world.Doshwaster said:cubegame said:

Looks like I could be good for Spain mid July- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-53126112
Should've been in Turkey today.......0 -
That will depend on whether the airline are flying in July.TimSynths said:Looks like I could be good for Spain mid July- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-53126112

I've already had my flight to Tenerife cancelled and refunded. The trouble is that the accommodation is booked through Expedia and is "non-refundable" so I'm still waiting to see if I can get a refund or credit from them or if I have to go through my insurance. No point in having a hotel booking if you can't get there.0 -
The trip to Spain on July 15th is still on, we have made some changes though. The apartment complex is not allowed use of the pool which is a deal breaker for us so we have looked around and swapped to a private villa with pool in the same town still within walking distance of the beach, it is another £700 but between 7 of us no issue paying £100 each.
Another problem/issue arose when providing the flight details on the villa booking, Easyjet without telling us has changed our departure airport from Gatwick to Luton, even on the app it still states Gatwick but when clicking into the flight itinerary shows as Luton. This caused a major panic and ball ache so now we have to run some cars up to Gatwick the night before (park nearby on a friends drive) and on the day of the flight itself we have called some favours in to get lifts from Brighton to Luton, we still fly back to Gatwick as originally planned hence having cars stashed there. Sneaky Easyjet....0 -
Wow good job you noticed the airport change outward but not return that could have been nasty....... Have you absolutely treble checked it? Guessing there may be some missing people if the App is incorrect but still some time away yet. Luton is a no go for us as is Stansted just too much hassle.TimSynths said:The trip to Spain on July 15th is still on, we have made some changes though. I haven't been from Luton since 1996 so it will be a totally new experience- such a pain though as Gatwick is 30 mins away and a doddle as use it a few times a year so now treat flying from there like getting on a bus- eg flight leaves @ 15:00 I leave the house @ 13:30, get dropped off @ Gatwick for 14:00, 10 mins later I am walking towards the gate (after buying two bottles of Gin)....Archergirl said:

Well, bit the bullet and cancelled Vegas, all 4 holidays gone this year now, 2 full refunds and 2 loss of deposit. no going to be booking anything for next year yet, will wait and see how things go but may even give next year a miss as well.
We are both high risk groups and have also to look after 2 housebound over 80's (different households) so really not worth the risk of sitting on a plane.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
More fun from Easyjet- they have cancelled our return flight to Gatwick- again no message or text to tell us, have managed to book a flight back from Malaga the next day to Luton- they really aren't doing themselves any favours now. Will now be checking the App twice a day until we go to make sure no other nasty surprises. My friend who has arranged all this is having a nervous breakdown and will cancel if anything else happens now.0

Should have been flying to Tenerife today but have rebooked for October. Only about 50:50 confident of it happening but at least it is something to look forward too.2
