So, following on with this thread, has anyone’s 2021 holiday plans changed or been disrupted?

We had Antigua booked for May, we’ve had to change dates to later in the year. We also had a family gathering cancelled; was originally booked for NYE, changed to March and has now been changed to mid June (very optimistic IMO).

I haven't even booked a day of work for 2021 yet. Had my first jab so I know there is light at the end of the tunnel but will wait till we get the all clear then might just grab a flight and go visit friends.

No plans disrupted because I don't have any. I have time booked off work but I'm just going to leave the decision about going away to the last minute. Realistically, I would expect that any foreign travel this year is unlikely.

Hopefully some sort of travel will be possible, maybe like the airbridges last summer/autumn to countries or even just islands where infection rates are low/vaccinations have been mostly done.
Can't understand why anyone would book anything though, yes if travel is not allowed you'd likely get refunded, but what if travel is technically allowed but you're subject to restrictions that make it not worth going like having to quarantine when you get there, or stuff you want to do not being available like bars/restaurants closed, pools closed, beaches, or having to wear masks on the beach (like Turkey last autumn), or travel by public transport restricted, group tours like walking tours not allowed, or shows/theme parks/museums/other indoor attractions closed if that's what you want to do etc etc.
So we will wait till the last minute, like we did last summer & autumn, and see where we can go with acceptable (to us) restrictions
  • Got away last year in September, but booked about 5 days before. Will wait until it becomes clear what will or won't be needed to get into a country and take it from there. Got to get my jabs first. :)

Unfortunately my leave year runs August to July and I'm having to book a whole bunch of days off just to sit at home, due to the "use it or lose it" policy. I'm considering booking a cheap refundable weekend away for mid July, but will stick to UK I think. I do have my fingers crossed for somewhere further afield by winter  - we can but hope!

I have 4 days left over from last year which I have to use by the end of March so I've just booked the next 4 Fridays of - and the Friday after that is Good Friday - so I'm on 4 day weeks for the next 6 weeks. Just a shame I can't go anywhere.

I've got a week booked off in July but I'm just going to leave it to the last minute. The Canaries would be nice (I had two trips there cancelled last year) but I would settle for a week touring the UK. I quite like the idea of throwing a bag into the boot of my car and just seeing where I end up.

With a bit luck you might get a bit gardening done if you have one  :)

We were supposed to be going on a Rhine Cruise last June, moved it to this June and will almost certainly be moving it to next year, so I have just spent something like 4 hours trying to find suitable accommodation for a staycation, and eventually found a house on the Norfolk coast to rent for a week. Not as exotic but our son, DIL and grandson are joining us in Norfolk so we will getting in song serious family catch up time.

The U.K. seems to be getting booked up rapidly, so don’t leave it too long.
