  • My son tested positive on Tuesday and is suffering from 'flu like' symptoms, so our plans to go away are shelved again until we are sure he is ok. He doesn't live with us, but I wouldn't feel comfortable being away whilst he is ill.

Not quite a holiday but did do a day away to London yesterday. It was deserted! Had Westminster Abbey to ourselves in the early afternoon and in the Science museum we were often the only two people in an exhibition, it was both weird and brilliant but nice to take the opportunity whilst it was available, i'm sure we will never get a day there like this again (I certainly hope not).

I made the mistake of watching a couple of Michael Palin programs over the last couple of days. I've gone from being fine staying in the UK to desperately wanting to travel again. I'm about to move house so can't do anything now anyway but I'm getting tempted to look around late November to see if there are any good deals to a 'safe' country for a week. If I did go away but things changed and I had to self-isolate for a couple of weeks that would be feasible as I work from home and could have food delivered.

That would be because London is a highish Covid risk.

The list of countries it's feasible to visit as a tourist is down to about 4 now...we can't even go to Wales!

Same here, we don't let this pandemic ruin 2020!
    Off to cyprus anytime soon!
  • Well should be in Egypt now, still gutted but count my blessings that have job, health etc. Once we knew the hol would be cancelled about a month ago we booked a week in a holiday park in Devon for next week- now awaiting for the refund of that too. Sorry to say but I have to call it as I have "now given up my 2020 holidays". Roll on 2021 for bigger and better plans!

Much as I want to go away, we will be staying put. Know of people who have Covid, they have no idea how they got it, so we’re not talking any chances, essential shopping only for us......
