  • Some posters on here were flying abroad three or four times a year.  Don't you care about the environment?  Isn't it about time you thought about the pollution and global warming you are contributing to?  Think about your grandchildren and their grandchildren.  Think about people in countries really suffering from climate change/disaster, monsoon and drought.  Already poor they are suffering disproportionately to the well off western world.

Not a problem for me- I have no children so my carbon foot print stops with me. One for the breeders.

The biggest problem I foresee with 2020 is that it's probably not going to be that clever to go to countries where it's absolutely essential to have travel insurance (ie. anywhere but Europe).

You'd be a mad fool to go to the USA.

Despite what the media would have you think, the reduced pollution that has been experienced during lock-down across the world has been pretty much insignificant. There has been a reduction but nothing that would help combat global warming.

Cars contribute more to global warming than aviation and even then that is such a small percentage.
Energy and how we create it is probably the worse culprit, feel free to switch of your phone and laptop and help your great grandchildren, even better, throw them all away and don't buy new ones, the demand for tech is damaging the earth at a great rate.

I lost a trip to Santiago De compostella in March , still waiting for the Ryanair part of the refund.  lost 2 UK short breaks , both re arranged for later this year, lost Canary Islands in April, fighting for a chargeback on hotel and a Ryanair refund. We were due to go to France this month and travel agent have cancelled us and refund will be issued in 8-12 weeks. We are supposed to be in Wales in August and part of that has already cancelled on us. Then Majorca in September which we are hopeful for, and another UK break in November again we are hopeful for that one.

We tend to book extra short trips last minute, which of course we haven’t done, and I probably won’t book anything else until there is a clearer picture of what is happening.

I'm tempted to book soon for Xmas/New Year as prices are still reasonably low

    No brainer really.
We've picked up a 10 night holiday in Maderia for two for less money than it would otherwise cost for one flight!
