Maximising income - Mystery Shopping? Surveys? (Part Three)

Yep - just make sure there's not a minimum purchase value - for one job with GAP they reimburse you more than you need but specify a minimum spend....
When I used to do the chicken and burger shops it used to be a bit of a challenge to find the latest, cheapest item!0 -
Yes you can buy something for 1p (as long as Gap don't mention a minimum spend in the brief).
Gap pay a fee plus an amount for purchases - they pay this regardless of how much you spend.
A purchase can be returned for a refund/exchange but don't forget, you need to keep the receipt for your records and also, in case Gap ever ask for the receipt. Some shops may accept a photocopy of the receipt if you take an item back.
BUT don't forget, if you spend 1p and Gap reimburse you £5, the extra £4.99 becomes taxable.0 -
Did our first burger joint today.
I have read on this forum about how "things" happen when they know there is a "Mystery Shopper" in the restaurant (I think someone said there is a clown who comes out and does cartwheels :rotfl:). I have to say I wondered if there was some exaggeration and I can honestly say, with the exception of the clown doing cartwheels, there was no exaggeration.
We have visited that particular restaurant a few times when out shopping etc. Today, it was totally different. We arrived early and parked up to do other things and noticed one member of staff outside sweeping up, another washing the signs down and the manager doing an inspection.
After a while, we returned to see things had settled down and everybody was doing the usual stuff. I am always very careful not to let on that I am a shopper, I operate my timer in my pocket etc, and my conversation was limited to just what was needed. The instructions tell you to ask for a receipt after your meal is delivered. When I did so, the servers face coloured up and it was obvious I had been sussed.
I sat down to eat and suddenly a member of staff came out to clean up, she was talking to the children and other customers, rubbing at stubborn marks on a table etc. Then the manager appeared, opening the door for people, he went outside and checked the same things that he had checked shortly before. Staff were glancing in my direction frequently etc.
It was certainly something of a floor show.
Is it the cynic in me or did they expect a "visit" today ?0 -
Can anyone help!
I'm doing a computer shop Audit today, and the first task is to ring them, and check the phone is picked up before 10 rings.
It doesn't say what I'm supposed to say on the phone!!! Am I supposed to say I'm coming for an audit, or just be a normal customer asking about something general HELP!
Also how unbelievably LOW is the pay!!! its alot less than a normal 'shop' (20mins aprox) and I'm supposed to be there for 45min -1 hour!!I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!:mad:0 -

Don't say that your coming for an audit - they aren't supposed to know in advance.
Maybe you could ask for directions to the shop? Ask if they stock a particular model of computer? Something quick and easy and then you can say thanks and hang up.0 -
