  • Hi All

Im new to the MS thing ( but thoroughly enjoying it!) and wonder if anyone could give me more details on how BARE work? I signed with a few already like RE who give detailed info on how you get assignments but cant find out how BARE work? Is it self select or do they call/email? Would appreciate your views/experience in the hope that I can open more doors to my MSing!!

    Many Thanks

signed up with edigitalresearch.com (mentioned in another post by someone) has anybody else had any work with these and any feedback would be great ;)

They're reliable. It's mostly assessing websites but the pay is often dire. Also they usually ask for people that would be signing up to e.g. a phone company anyway (i.e. little or no scope for freebies), and when they do give you a spend limit it rarely ever covers the cheapest item and delivery.

Basically, you sign up and once you have done one of the tests, they ask you go online and check the JOB BOARD. They send frequent emails with the new jobs that are going. I have only recently joined up, and have done two visits for them, which were quite fun, but they ask for a fair of detail in the questionnaire. Payment is once a month, and reimbursements come through just after a fortnight. Hope this helps. Any more questions, feel free to PM me. Enjoy.

I know someone who used to do qualitative market research and research-related consulting (focus groups, individual interviews, presentations, etc.) at a very high level up to about 10 years ago but had to give up for health reasons. Some of their areas of expertise were customer relations/service, retailing and related areas.

They're now interested in doing mystery shopping to earn a little extra money.

Do you think it is in their best interest to mention their experience? Or do you think they'd best keep quiet about it as the mystery shopping agencies would not accept them because the expertise gained in that previous life would that they can't be 'ordinary' shoppers?

    Thanks,

    wt

They should DEFINITELY mention their experience. MS companies are always looking for people with good customer service skills. I think I would play up the CS skills and not mention the market research!
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

technically, you need to let them have the receipt....

BUT - I have ignored these in the past and they've still paid me. I think after 3 months they'll stop chasing you for the receipt - you'll probably get those emails once every week or so unless you upload something.

What I've done on these enquiry ones before is to upload a blank white JPEG - this seemed to shut them up!

    You forgot the important bit.

BARE pay you in Euros at a conversion rate set at one point in time (last year it was Jan 2007.)

Consequently you may lose out on the exchange rate when you get your expenses back.

Also your bank takes some commission for converting the Euros to £'s so you may lose out again.

Apart from that they have some reasonable fee paying jobs.
