    From their website:

... and specify the times you are available to mystery shop.

I've got them all ticked and have received job offers by email and phone.

red fox, are there any jobs in your "Assignments no longer available" section??

There are no jobs under the assignments no longer available and I remember the last time a job on there was January. I had previously thought that I had been fired and they had not let me know as the last MS job I did for them was a bank and I was refused an account.

I have re-read it again and I have got it wrong. I think you do have to tick them all as says on the availability section

"Uncheck any days/times that you are NOT available to mystery shop from this address "
  • Hmmm ... it's like one of those films where weird things happen and you don't know why ... bit like the matrix and deja vu!!! Anyone heard a bloke called Morpheus calling to them?? :rotfl:

I'd read Becles post earlier and checked the page and I'm convinced this morning on the page I had it said check the boxes you are unavailable! Ah well, I must have got it messed up!

    Apologies folks!

    £10 a day in November = £593.31 / £300

Does anyone get a little irritated with GAP's petrol report where it asks you about the toilet? It says "does it have a toilet?" and you say no, as IT DOES NOT - and answer the following questions N/A. When you go to submit the report, the validation says "this site does have a toilet - you cannot select no" (or something similar) - so despite the fact that there ISN'T A TOILET, you have to go back and say the toilet was fine and dandy!

The people at the shop must have a right jolly when they get a report back saying how clean and well stocked the toilet was when there wasn't even one!

When these were first done GAP phoned people and asked them to do them and made it clear we were to check if the site had a toilet or not so the information could be permanently put onto the system.

So, when you now do a job and the report goes like that it either means the intial shopper did not do their job correctly  or they have since added or remove the loo.

Just to clear up with Grass Roots, I was unchecking the boxes when I was not available. The boxes are checked when I am available.

I got a few jobs from them at the beginning of the year, but I've hardly been offered anything recently. They must be going through a quiet spell.
Here I go again on my own....

I'm often too late with Grass Roots. By the time I got the email and logged in the jobs have usually been picked up. But the ones I don't want anyway are usually still there. :rotfl:

It does pay thought to log in every now and then to check ... I have picked up some jobs long before the email came through. ;)

Tim, what I do in situations like this is just what you have done. But in the comments box at the end I make it clear that THE STAFF TOLD ME THAT THIS SITE HAD NO TOILET. HOWEVER, THE DESIGN OF YOUR QUESTIONNAIRE HAS MEANT I HAVE HAD TO COMPLETE THE FORM AS IF A TOILET WAS PRESENT. It's probably better, now I think of it, to put the worst possible ratings for the toilet, or whatever - because then the Gap staff are more likely to read the actual report!!! :rotfl:
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).
  • I originally joined MSing 5 months ago to get a free meal out at a half decent restaurant, all this time later still nothing in my area!

I hardley MS at all now, as I refuse most of the Gap jobs as the novelty has worn off & they just don't pay enough.

    I'm currently with
GAP, RE, GR, GFK, TNS & Bare.

Just a moan and a warning to newbies, that unless your near a city jobs are scarce!

On a more hopeful note how do you get to do petrol audits for Gap? Are they harder than MSing and do you still get to get some petrol?
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!

With one of the MS companies going over from a PAYE system to Independent Contractor status, it's hard to actually make a "paper profit" from the food jobs. The mileage allowance doesn't cover the 40p/mile or the 6p per page printed to do the work, especially if it's an "expenses only/no fee" job.

Unfortunately it's a situation where it will be hard to give a good enough reason to HMRC for doing these jobs, especially where it's obvious that they're a loss-making exercise from the outset. The fact that there's a "free" meal in it just doesn't cut it.

Needless to say, several of these types of job have been hanging around on the self-assign system for a long time now.
