It's not you, most of the time ;)

Edit to say you're right, they're incompetent most of the time (not "it's you, some of the time"!)

still waiting to do my first ms, signed up to r.e and gap waiting for grassroots to accept me. Couple of questions

Computer shop with gap, spending limit £5, is this the max they will reimburse you for the actual purchase? So If I buy a £10 item they will give me £5 back? I.E I use the £5 as a discount. How about if i only spend £2 do gap still give me £5 or do they just give back the £2?

Bookies with R.E. fee + £2 gamble. Does the gamble have to be for that day? Do you have to send the slip in or just a copy/scan of it? Presumambly if bet loses then r.e give you the £2 back, if bet wins you get your money back from bookies plus winnings, do r.e still pay the £2 as well? Just wondered as if you bet on something in the future r.e will have paid before bet is winner/loser. Also if i gamble more than £2 is that ok but r.e will only reimburse the £2

    Cheers for help
if i had known then what i know now
  • Hiya,

Just signed up with GAP and need to give my bank details. What's BSB mean? (sorry for complete stupidity!) Do I just provide my account number and sort code?

    TIA

Is this the Stuck For Staff one in Manchester ??

Just a bit of advice if you do go, go to the www.stuckforstaff.com website and download their CV form, fill it in beforehand, preferably with a photo. You can get the CV forms there, which are free, but you are then charged 50p per copy, none of the agencies there will speak to you unless you hand over a copy of the CV, photos are not essential, but they do prefer the forms to have them.:j
    Hi,

I had a look on the website and it says you need to fill in the application form AND take copies of your CV. Do you really need both and if so do you list all your work experience or just the relevant bits? (I have lots of non-relevant bits on my current CV because it's for my main job!)

    Many thanks,

    Lola :)

The notes for RE will tell you, but I think that the bet has to be £2. If you win, they suggest to note down the number at the bottom bt the best way would be to go home, scan the receipt then collect your winnings later (either from same outlet or one nearer by). If you do win, they will still pay the £2.

For GAP, i think the procedure is different for each job but for the computer shops you get the full £5 even if it is only a minor purchase (but I haven't dont any for a few months since being "removed" so rudely from their list so this may have changed).

Ok just finished my second Gap assignment - did one for the compute store last week and just did a burger one. I have submitted both reports well within the time frame and have about five more shops lined up over the next couple of weeks, but I haven't had anything fro Gap to say that the reports I've submitted are ok or when I'm likely to be paid...how long do they normally take to check the reports...? I'd really like some feedback before doing the other reports to make sure I'm on the right lines...

    xx

They won't tell you if/when they've read them - as long as you've done the report and submitted the receipt (without them emailing to say otherwise), you'll get paid next month on the 24th(ish).

Don't expect any contact from them unless it's to rollock/sack you - just plod along and enjoy it while you can! :D;)

Gap don't give you any feedback or, well.....anything really! If there is a problem they'll contact you, but I'm sure it's fine.

You'll be paid for these at the end of May.

ah ok - thanks for the replies....my partner has done some shops for Bare and RE and he's had feedback from both with queries but I haven't had anything so was worried that they were SO rubbish, Gap hadn't even bothered to get in contact! lol xx
