BTW Jobbingmucian, I did manage it in the end, but a few before especially when I was doing the test or even before I couldnt open a new window.

I'm ashamed to say I flunked another one  , and now after reading the op posts about re-setting it, I think I will give it a miss.

Can anyone tell me how to cancel a job on Optimum Contact?

I've accepted a Department store job where I have to count every member of staff in every department, but have just realised it's during the school holidays and I don't think my kids would be good long enough for me to do the job!

    Thanks in advance !

The best way to cancel a job with them, is to phone them and speak personally and explain the situation, all the staff there are lovely and if you explain what has happened, it shouldn't affect any future work.

What they don't like is a cancelled job with no explanation.

    08709 502 560.

(sorry, no alternative number, I have looked many times)

How do you get assignments with Optimum Contact? DO they email them to you because I can't see a job board or anything?

I've just googled "Optimum Contact Limited Northwood" and I get this number
01179 323521 although it does appear to be the fax number as well - might be worth a try if you're having to ring anyway and then let us know please?

They e-mail you with work as and when it is available in your area, you then have a chance to accept or decline it, if you decline it, you have to give a reason why.

Surveys are readily available to do on their website, but you have to ask for access to them first, call the number I gave on the previous post and they will let you do them if you qualify.

  • You may have got the email saying the assignment notes had changed (you're supposed to order a less expensive item now). But if you already completed a shop this month, before the change, you'll find they have reduced the reimbursement for these shops you've already completed! Naughty! Make sure you check they haven't tried to screw you too.

I find that a bit irritating sometimes too. I try to plan a couple of visits on the same day as I like to know what I am doing and I can make plans accordingly. Sometimes you wait days with the status as pending, during which time I don't know whether to book other visits in for that day, in case I don't get them, or book others in and then get them all and overload myself!

I've applied for all the call centre/e-mails ones too and had nothing. I've done loads of jobs and have a really good "shopper rating", so its obviously nothing to do with how long you've been with them etc

They are peeing me off as well though. Was in London yesterday for a meeting, so thought would do a couple of MS whilst there. Already submitted a date for one assignment, only to be told in instructions not to complete the shop unless had e-mail confirmation giving the go ahead. So guess what? Didn't have an e-mail conformation so didn't do the assignment. So what was the point in me submitting the date I was going to do the shop in the first place? Then to make matters worse, I e-mailed saying that yesterday was the only day I could do the assignment, as I don't live in London, and got a shirty e-mail back cancelling the assignment!

I just get the feeling with all MS companies (some worse than others), that they're not particularly professional themselves, yet expect you to be and when they start getting grief from their clients because of deadlines approaching etc, then they blame the shoppers themselves and take it out on them! Just my personal opinion you understand ;)

Oh and I had a giggle this morning. Got an e-mail along the lines of "Get on the job board now so that you don't miss out on the exciting jobs we have." What greasy burgers and chicken? Na! Don't think so

I am in a similar situation I applied for a job with bare 2 weeks ago and heard nothing as usual but I have just had it allocated to me and I can no longer do it at short notice. I have tried emailing the schedular but have heard nothing back.
Any ideas how I cancel it?
