So it's husband's birthday on Monday. Today he was meant to be going on a roadtrip with 2 of our mutual friends to a hobby trade fair down in the midlands (3 hours away) followed by a bunch of our mutual friends either travelling back up to ours from said trade fair or making their way to our house this evening. Tomorrow we've got 15 people round doing hobby things and socialising. (Plus I was very happy because he was meant to be out the house for at least 8 hours today)
Spanner in the works; first friend (one who was driving on roadtrip) is ill and cannot either drive or go. Second friend who is fairly lazy has then decided he doesn't fancy 5.5 hours driving and has cancelled. Husband has been lying in bed since yesterday evening proclaiming that everything is !!!!!! and no-one cares about him.
(During all these proclamations I've actually offered to drive him down to said trade fair if he really wanted to go- he didn't take me up on my offer)
He's now claiming he's going to cancel all our friends coming this evening because 'no-one gives a !!!!!! about me' (which obviously makes no sense given some friends are driving up from South Wales/Scottish borders to come) He has however just now randomly been !!!!!! with me because (and I quote) "Obviously if I want something doing for my birthday I need to meticulously organise it myself, and only rely on me because I am special to no-one and no-one else makes any effort" I pointed out that firstly lots of people have made lots of effort to come up this evening so clearly they care, and that whilst friend 2 has indeed been a bit crappy and lazy - I offered to drive him down so his original plans could still happen. He then said "yeah /no-one/ gives a !!!!!! about me." (Emphasis on 'no-one')
I said "hang on, what have I done wrong?!" He's just said "you don't want to have this argument" so I've said "you are clearly upset and feeling let down, but I've done nothing but try and fix that, so It's not fair that I'm now being blamed." And come downstairs.
Firstly: !!!!!!?!
Secondly; his actual birthday isn't until sodding Monday, so he's grumping about how I'm somehow failing to make the Saturday before his birthday special?!?
Thirdly; what a sodding narcissist.
Finally (because I feel it's relevent. My last 3 birthdays I have organised myself; last 2 have been inviting friends for takeaways and boardgames- I've done all the inviting and other than buying me a present (to be fair, always a nice present) he's not organised anything.
So he's now lying in bed listening to a playlist pretty much titled 'songs to kill yourself to' and feeling sorry for himself. What a !!!!!!.Bottom line;

If you didn't have to live with it then it would be funny but you do so it isn't. What's the betting that he gets out of bed an hour before friends come tonight and spends the rest of the evening pretending to be Mr Nice Guy?1

Ha! The letter from HSBC just arrived! Into my hands so I've secreted it in my jacket pocket. Due to him lying in bed he's not seen it (and it helpfully arrived alongside a council tax statement) so if he asks about the post I've got that to wave at him.
Going out food shopping shortly and I'll sit in the car park and pay it whilst I'm there.Bottom line;
