Man they are so incompetent it is unreal, I am so sorry this is going to be over you for the next week or so, a general comment might be a good idea, like you said, he won't be as interested in you getting a letter then. I have everything crossed they actually come through with an email and the extra vigilance will be unwarrented!1

Car tax notice arrived from the DVLA- only £20 for the full year so paid that straight away from my car savings pot. I'm going to try and put away £50 each month from June so that I can pay my car insurance straight off in one lump sum in September. I tried to last year but loads of stuff cropped up and I ended up having to pay by DD still.Bottom line;

So I've been looking at what I'm going to do with my remaining £2K after the HSBC letter comes through. I've requested a settlement figure from my car finance today but the settlement figure only knocks £94 off the total amount outstanding (£2,594) so I think a more sensible thing to do would be to use £546 to pay off my remaining DMP- (leaving me with an extra £277 each month which I'll just start paying into my savings instead) and then sit on the remaining balance until about June where I'll have just over £2000 in my savings (£1500 from remaining interest repayment + £277 each month for 3 months) to pay off the remaining car loan. (which will be at just over £2000 at the beginning of June)
That way when my payment for marking exams comes in at the end of July (£1000-1500) I can put that in my EF straight away as the car will be paid off by then.Bottom line;

Had a proper moment of sneaky inspiration yesterday. Letter still hasn't come through (I'm expecting it midweek) It's husband's birthday in just over a week; so I've told him that one of his birthday presents is coming via letter and please not to open any of my post as I don't want the surprise spoiled, which he's agreed to. One of his birthday presents (stand uo comedy tickets) feasibly could have been posted in a letter so that scans. So I've done as much as I can.Bottom line;

I hope that works…or even better, the bank does as it promised! Opening others mail is such an invasion of privacy…as is hovering while you open it 😖Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
