Thanks. I'll SAR them now. They really don't want to start that game. It's unacceptable. N Hunter is meant for application data inconsistencies and is not there to be abused by banks. It's akin to them adding a cifas; because they feel like it - forget evidence and any standard of proof test lol

Ill check it out as will SAR N Hunter today. Cheers 👍

Edit - have just spoken (via email) to them and they're sending me a new SAR shortly. I'll soon know!
Trouble is, stuff you put in applications is going to change regularly anyway, such as employer, salary etc.  How can they decide what is potential fraud and what isn't?  Also, different answers may be provided in applications depending upon how they ask the question as well!
Yea I get that and know how it works but it picks up inconsistencies. So an increase in salary etc will be fine. Just not if it differed each application.  Ditto employer / personal info etc.

Mine all tallies. ie last application in July - time at address 15 years yet this month my apps I've put 15y / 1mth which would tally and pass any checks.

My employer is my own business so that's easy - January 2000. My salary is set - been same for 20 years but I exclude bonus / dividends to keep it the same. So a lot depends on the user being honest - which I am.

Anyway I'll update if RBS do this when the SAR comes via email.

National Hunter told me that the members own the data and use the database as they see fit in line with the members' agreed rules. It doesn't just check for discrepancies in the application data. It also highlights 'application velocity'. Applying too frequently to a National Hunter member will flag and it is up to the member whether they want to flag you on the database.

Sorry but no. That's not true. From N Hunter - it's only for fraud. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nothing about applying a lot equates to fraud so my data will not be used in this manner.

Anyway this is another totally different discussion so I'll leave it there and let the thread get back on track.

Opening lots of current accounts can indicate fraud though (as far as the bank is concerned).
  • just yesterday applied for 2nd sole Natwest reward account and it did not go through completely and gave me an application number. Today I called up sales team and they looked into my application and my current reward account which I hold and they told me that I cannot have more than 1 reward account. I asked him to check their website and app which mentions I can have 2 reward accounts and also few days back an agent told me I can have as many as rewards account. But he said it only says 2 rewards account meaning 1 sole and 1 joint, so he said he has to decline/reject this new application and can start a fresh one with joint application but there is no way to have 2 rewards account.  All this contradicts with what customer service team told me few days back and few people have more than 1 sole reward account.
So now I dont have to worry about this as it did not work for me and will only create a joint applciation.

It's unfortunate that it didn't work for you though at least you can go the joint account route.
I wouldn't feel too bad about it though as I suspect that those who were successful with multiple sole accounts will at some point have that success cut short.
  • I opened two Reward accounts in August - within 2 weeks of each other. I applied for the first; instantly approved and then when I could login and stuff I opened the second. It showed on my banking immediately.

You can see here - I've got £12 rewards pending, as I've met the payin, login & DD criteria. As both accounts are new, I'm not quite sure how this breaks down but I've not actually paid any DD's from the second account yet - will start this month - so maybe it's 2 x £1 for the login in August, 1 x £4 for August DD's on act #1 and then 2 x £1 for September login plus £4 for DD's on act #1 for September as I've done a few DD's to PO savings.

So it's confusing, but doesn't help that I opened two in the last two weeks of August and logged in and met income criteria with DD's on just one of the two accounts.

Your statement will list what the reward amounts are for. Although it won't tell you on which of the accounts, you should be able to figure it out.

Thanks. Will wait till the DD's go from act #2 this month and then it might update and be more clear. They may close it down yet - who knows?!
