RBS & NatWest Rewards

Just wanted to tip people off who might use both RBS and NatWest Rewards accounts:
You will need to use different email addresses for each online banking. I have been trying for a few weeks to register on the RBS MyRewards, but have each time met up with an error message. Online staff unable to help, but managed to speak with a person on the end of the phone, who explained that although the banking brands are kept separate, the MyRewards scheme cannot use the same email address for two separate accounts, and the MyRewards email address is the same as you use for Internet Banking, so therefore you will need a different email address for your Internet banking for both NatWest and RBS if you wish to partake in the MyRewards scheme for both brands.
I also struggled to change my email address registered with RBS on Internet Banking, and had to ring up to do that.

I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Ok, the website is pretty awful. I had trouble registering but it wouldn't tell me why - eventually I tried a different password and it worked, but I don't know what was wrong with the first one.
If you need two different email addresses but want emails to go to the same place, you can use surreysaver+natwest@example.com and surreysaver+rbs@example.com
If the website silently fails on having + in emails then some providers like Gmail make surreysaver@gmail.com, surrey.saver@gmail.com and s.u.r.r.e.y.s.a.v.e.r@gmail.com aliases of each other.1 -
You don't need to have the same email for both internet banking and the rewards login for each bank.
EG. RBS Bank "rbs.co.uk@mydomain. com"
"rbs.rewards@mydomain. com"
Works fine.
I don't know if there is a problem if you use the same for both banks, but then I use a similar system to herman and register with an email formatted like; "company.name.or.website@mydomain. com"
That way I know where the email came from before opening it.

I think the point of the thread was that you need two different email addresses (whichever way you achieve that difference).1

Has anyone who already has Natwest and RBS Reward accounts, opened a second Reward account with either bank and received the rewards for the second account?0

I hadn't even though of doing so however since the change in how rewards are earned it would be possible to benefit from it with not too much effort. The only restriction I can find is you can only have one solo and one joint account.
From the T&C:5.4 From 1 February 2020, you may not open a Reward account if you already have aReward, Reward Silver, Reward Platinum or Reward Black account (‘existing account’),unless:- the Reward account you want to open is a sole account and your existing accountis a joint account, or- the Reward account you want to open is a joint account and your existing accountis a sole account.
The question now, is it worth it for £36 a year?0 -

Yes, in fact as a couple you could get £216 in total with two solo's and one joint account at each bank.
The pay in requirements are unusual in that you only need to pay £1250 into one qualifying current account rather than £1250 into each reward account.
Log in to the mobile app is not exactly onerous so the only things to consider, is it worth the effort and have you got enough DD's.

Sorry, I should have said I meant 2 sole accounts. I know T+C's say it's not allowed, but I wondered if anyone had tried opening a second sole account, and if they had received the reward for it.0

I would assume anyone slipping under the radar in opening two accounts would be picked up eventually and at least one account would be downgraded to a select account.0
