RBS & NatWest Rewards

Yea. Pay in £1250 and then move it straight back out if you want. You must have two active DD's both taking a small amount (might be £2.00/ea) to get the reward.schiff said:Just two questions: the rewards are not taxable? Does the pop £1250 in, pop it out work to satisfy the terms? And the net 'profit' (subject to the DDs) is £3 pm? TYFrom the site - "Earn £4 a month back in Rewards for 2 or more Direct Debits - 2 of those Direct Debits needs to be at least £2 each. Plus, earn an extra £1 a month back in Rewards with 1 mobile app log in. That's up to £5 a month back in Rewards to spend on whatever you like!"
so deduct the £2 fee and it's a free £36 each year.As for tax - I don't think so as it's a reward.1 -
@funkycredit A lot of various banks current accounts can get you declined by NW/RBS. They tend to mark your National Hunter record, too, which can influence other banking groups.1

I get you but it's only RBS. They really wouldn't want to mark anything. The application data I supply is verifiable and factual so if they did I'd be straight on at my solicitor to get it sorted - fair dos if I've changed any application data but that's not the case.soulsaver said:@funkycredit A lot of various banks current accounts can get you declined by NW/RBS. Anyway, I'd only be using them so it's no biggie.Cheers though. I do get your point. 🍻0 -
They definitely like marking National Hunter as 'inconsistency' for spurious reasons like 'unrealistic level of apps'.soulsaver said:@funkycredit A lot of various banks current accounts can get you declined by NW/RBS. Thanks. I'll SAR them now. They really don't want to start that game. It's unacceptable. N Hunter is meant for application data inconsistencies and is not there to be abused by banks. It's akin to them adding a cifas; because they feel like it - forget evidence and any standard of proof test lol
Ill check it out as will SAR N Hunter today. Cheers 👍
Edit - have just spoken (via email) to them and they're sending me a new SAR shortly. I'll soon know!0 -
Did you complain? What was the outcome?Ed-1 said:

Exactly. That's no reason to be on any fraud database. It's rubbish and bad practice. I'd be fuming.soulsaver said:

Apparently it's a valid reason code on National Hunter. It stays on for 3 years.funkycredit said:

We'll see about that. Sorry, utter tripe. We can apply for as many accounts as we like. That's nothing whatsoever to do with N Hunter or sharing it to other lenders (in a fraud context). Anyway I'll see when I get my SAR and go from there.Ed-1 said:

Trouble is, stuff you put in applications is going to change regularly anyway, such as employer, salary etc. How can they decide what is potential fraud and what isn't? Also, different answers may be provided in applications depending upon how they ask the question as well!funkycredit said:Thanks. I'll SAR them now. They really don't want to start that game.
