I have literally never ever had AMEX junk mail. not once. And I have been a customer for years. Maybe i "ticked a box" somewhere along the lines but I don't remember doing so.oxocubes said:
Unless amex have changed their ways, you will be inundated with junk mail, enough to paper your living room every few months. That's why I avoid anything amex, also some companies don't accept amex.paul2louise said:
I applied for an amex card tonight, top on the recommended list on this site.
Same here apart from the card 6 months ago .I did tick the email statement box though

I haven’t used mine this week but yes the letter did say to continue to use card as normal until the new card was received. Maybe they’ve posted yours out and that’s why old card isn’t working now.lwd said:Has anyone who was moved to the new card tried using their Asda one in the last couple of days?Mine seems to have stopped working when the letter said it would continue until the new card arrived.
Ill try mine tomorrow if i manage manage to get in any shops during my lunch break.0 -
Maybe - but then I know I’ve had more Cashback vouchers than I’ve ever paid in the monthly fee and a few quid interest they’ve made when I’ve not paid the card in full. So calculating mine, they will know already they’ll run at a loss and still they’ve offered me the card, which I’ll use as my main card now as the Cashback is unlimited.kaMelo said:
This was the reason I asked the question.roddydogs said:
I ment for the individual person, can't see them letting some have 2%, if they pay off in full and are losing money on it.WillPS said:
Of course, just as they cancelled the Asda card.roddydogs said:Obviously only people who don't pay the whole amount off would be offered that card, but what's to stop them doing so in future? Can they then cancel it?
Asda dropped the cashback to 0.2% on other transactions but kept the 2% on Asda spending probably because it could offset the costs with profits from purchases and future purchases with the cashback vouchers.
Creation have no retail activity to do this so I can only think they have analysed people's spending habits and tried to entice those whom it thinks will be profitable with the offer of a decent cashback rate..
Could be a a combination of things, account conduct, credit file, anything - who knows!0 -
Nightmare trying to get my last voucher, it won't send in the normal way to my inbox, spent ages waiting for reply, no ones answering. anybody else?0

i used it this morning so its working
check to see what your offer was from creation some had to opt in to get their account transfered from asda i didn't have to i assume its related to when you signed up for the original asda card and the new terms of the agreement ie cashback or not etc0 -
I get the page that says "create voucher" , click send by e mail, it says "sent", but never appears.0

I've just created a voucher and it came through about 2 seconds later.1

Had this a couple of times and got round it by copying and pasting the bar code to a word document.roddydogs said:I get the page that says "create voucher" , click send by e mail, it says "sent", but never appears.
You can then scan the bar code at ASDA.
If using Scan and Go you just show the barcode to the to the scanner. Don't press any buttons or try to input the code manually. Just scan the barcode.1 -
Now ok, it was a problem with vm e mails.1
