Mediation is there to bully you into agreeing to pay.  We even saw one recently where the Mediator (not he parking firm, reportedly) told the Defendant that there was a court case won by VCS which meant that they would likely win... and then the silly person believed it and agreed to pay instead of winning at their hearing later.

There are court cases won by VCS but they are not about screwing someone over for stopping at a petrol pump!

    Don't do it.

That's true.  And at Mediation, that should be part of your message.  ''I live in Germany, what the heck are you doing trying to bring me to the English courts...''  And DON'T believe any lies they tell you about pursuing you anyway.

The Mediator is not the Judge.  Mediators are simply told as their job, to try to settle the case and that means making the Defendant agree to pay something.  That's what Mediation is for and that's why we tell people NOT TO DO IT.

The hearing is NOT like that and we win 99% of the time.

Forget mediation.  Cancel it now, or end the call early when you feel bullied, you have the ower to put the phone down, you know.  DO NOT BE PERSUADED OR INTIMIDATED.  PUT THE PHONE DOWN.

But do tell them you live in Germany as your permanent domicile and say that the C may as well discontinue as this is a waste of the court's time & money.

It is because they are about such small sums of money, people would be stupid to pay £250 to defend £100 PCN.

Pretty much no-one here who goes to court with our help, and wins, has ever been to court before.
Everyone who wins is like you.

A judge WILL NOT say VCS can have money for you parking at a petrol pump.

more important is to smash V.C.S as many people keep getting tickets for stopping on petrol pump trying to get a fuel.
But you're not going to 'smash VCS' in the small claims court. If they lose a case, they have maybe £125 to pay in costs, they shrug their shoulders and move on to the next victim. For every case they lose, there will be dozens of other victims scared silly by the threat of court (and the irrationality around a CCJ, credit trashing, bailiffs, car clamped, 75" Samsung snatched off their wall .... ) paying them around £250 to get them off their backs.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
