Today I have been formally declined for bbls. 18 days from signing and being told funds are automatically drawn down .

Company running 3 years average turnover £250k loan amount 30k

    no reasons given

needless to say, account will be closed as soon as possible

    good luck all 👍
Sorry to hear that, that's really disappointing news! HSBC have been appalling and I wouldn't be surprised if there will be a string of people now being declined. I would write to your local MP about this it's not on at all.. Good luck

So I've finally had some movement....the BBL appeared on my online banking as a separate account showing the available amount as the loan but the balance as 0.00. So its progress but I don't have access to the funds yet for some reason.  I hope its not a further 20 days of waiting......

This is shocking and disgracefully how can you sign agreement and then declined. Sorry can I ask do you bank with them, was it a feeder account, they have to give a reason for the decline. This is madness and totally unfair pls email Ian Stuart at hsbc this needs looking into

    Have you emailed the CEO?
    Ian.stuart@hsbc.com
Give a detailed account of when you applied, list calls and I promise within 72 hours you will get clarification.
It pays to be nice, don't go in all guns blazing 😊
@thumpthump - yeah did that like you said,  a simple civil email over 72 hours ago with relevant details - but no response to the present time  :-(

What's going on with everyone else who frequented this thread, are you mostly paid up now?  I've been 3 weeks now, have rung occasionally but just got the HSBC staff working at home who do the best they can, but they have no information, has anyone been longer than 3 weeks or so on here?

I did not have a business account, tried to open one with Lloyds but they are not taking on any new customers, so started the ball rolling with HSBC, I got an email a week later (first week of May) that they are getting alot of new business account applications, so there will be a delay and if I still want to go ahead with the application. I agreed to go ahead. This saturday, 30th May got details of the new bank account opened via email with a message that I can now apply for the BBL. Applied for BBL straight away, I was pleasantly surprised with communications and processing times of HSBC considering the current rush of applications they would be receiving.  I am expecting to hear back about the BBL in about 2 to 3 weeks considering the timeframe given by people here.
It is much slower than lets say Lloyds, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there everyone !

Hsbc have been a disgrace the way they have handled this. I applied on the 4th of May And was given my Application code
2 weeks after applying I rang Hsbc and asked what was happening with my Application  and was told there was a back log and to wait for the email.
i rang Hsbc On the 28th of May Becuase I was talking to people that had Who had Applied on the 21st of May and they had the email 2 days later.
the person I was talking to From Hsbc on the 28th Was in Amanda Murphy’s (Head of commercial banking uk )team and does not normally work on the phones. I was told by him that on the 4th of May the system crashed, and that everyone’s application on the 4th had to now be done manually and was now at the back of the queue but was being dealt with. He also said that on the 27th him and the rest of the team had a zoom meeting with Amanda Murphy and that she had said it looks like we have now completed all of the 4th of May applications but if anyone rings in the next 2 days saying they had applied on the 4th of May and still not had there email that they are to be assured the email will arrive within 48hrs as there is a dedicated team working on the 4th of May applications.
i then asked this gentleman if I have not heard anything by the 2nd/3rd of June should I ring back. He said no, 48 hrs was not working days it included weekends and the team where working over the weekend. He said if I had not had my email to sign by Sunday night that I should ring first thing Monday morning and tell them about the conversation I had with him and that it needs to be looked into straight away as to why I had still not received my email. So today the 1st of June I rand AGAIN HSBC, I was then passed on to a different help desk, that person informed me That he was just a overflow help desk and there was nothing he could do and I need to ring back and talk to the main help desk. Great there is a hour and a half wasted. I again rang Hsbc, again I explained everything I was told on the 28th of May. The lady just said to me sorry you just need to wait for the email. I explained I have been waiting 4 weeks for this email and was told I MUST ring Monday if I had not received my email by the 31st. Again she just said you will just have to wait for you email there is nothing I can do for you, I said how long ? The ladies answer was “you just have to wait “
by this time I was furious. I asked to speak to a manager and she refused, I then demanded to speak to a manger and in the end she said ok.
i waited on the line for 20mins and eventually the manger agreed to get one of Amanda Murphy’s team to contact me today. Guess what !!! No phone call came.
I’ve still had no email, I’ve no idea what is happening with my application, will I be accepted ? Will it be approved?
I am amazed, disgusted and very disappointed  in how Hsbc has handled all this, how they have lied to me constantly, how they just don’t care and I have no idea what to do next.
Has anyone any ideas what I should do now as it has exhausted me and I am out of ideas
