Thinking of using my cancelled bookings to offset against a flight in August
At the end of May , recd an email re Move your cancelled flight free of charge to any destination on our network, Free move.
Is this still available? Email attached a link to a youtube ryanair video, but as the bookings no longer show, can not click FREE.
    Thanks

I’m a healthcare professional and I wouldn’t even consider going anywhere this year as Covid-19 is still as dangerous as it always has been. No insurance companies will cover you especially with the global risk. Not worth it in any shape or form. 😬 seen too much

yes Soolin, rejected the voucher. Filled in the form for a refund for both legs of the journey. After they acknowledged this then had email saying wouldnt you prefer a voucher, then another saying dont forget you have a voucher? When someone posted a link  to get a refund I again tried to fill it in, it said I was already in the system. I assume at some point I will get a refund!

So... am due a refund but have changed bank  accounts so the one I paid with doesn't exist now. Ryanair have said I can't give them new details. My old bank said they will just send it back to Ryanair.  Do I just accept the vouchers?
Can Ryanair not send you a cheque? I'd be unsurprised if they had a booking clause that stated the refund must be made back to the same account the payment was taken from. Failing any practical solution by Lyingair, you could try a chargeback from your new bank account, although you won't have a record of outgoing payment....conundrum really.
That's what I thought but they said no. Or the bot did... is it worth forking out to ring them? So frustrating  😬

Yes I agree with everything you have said. I am paying for 6 people’s flights on my credit card and the interest is ridiculous that has accrued no point in a payment holiday as you still have to pay it at the end ... unfortunately the cost of the interest has amounted to the cost of my flight now in the first place. I can’t afford to pay off that large sum in one hit so I’m paying £100 month but £70 is in interest dreadful state of affairs when it was for a holiday break.

Why have you let it get to this?  Why didn't you just do a chargeback/Section 75 on your credit card?  Problem solved instantly.

  • I had flights to Krakow from London in the end of March, the flight was cancelled in middle of March. After spending too much time trying to make the claim and then refusing vouchers I decided to make a charge back through Monzo in middle of April. Got refunded through Monzo this weeks, almost 4 months after the cancellations. Looking at this thread I think I may have gotten the actual refund from Ryanair a few weeks earlier if had not gone for the Chargeback however I'm satisfied with making the chargeback as a way to tell Ryanair that their behaviour has not been OK....

Good luck to the rest of you

Just got the email from Ryanair to say they have processed refund back to card. (5/7 days).
Flight dated 28th May. Been through the whole process. Ask for refund, receive voucher, get past Bot, ask on line agent for refund. Got a few emails to stay still in queue.
Will check bankabank in a few days!

I note that my first comment on this thread was 17th March on page 4! This covered the success of persevering with the original problem reported of getting a refund request acknowledged (but not accepted) via RA's preferred online form. Following this, I (and everyone else it seems) have been pestered by RA to accept a voucher or apply anew for a refund. Many people have re-applied via various routes with varying success, but I decided not to kow-tow further to RA's whims and stuck to my original refund request. I therefore haven't contacted RA since.
I did however lose patience waiting a couple of months ago and requested a chargeback via an online form from my CC (MBNA/Lloyds). They said it would take 45 days or so to complete, and have sent a number of 'we are still working on it' emails. Meanwhile, I also had the option in hand to accept the voucher should things change in my favour.
Just as an update, I can now report (74 pages and 4 months further on) that I just received a very curt email from RA yesterday saying ...
    "Dear Customer,
We confirm that a refund has been processed back to the form of payment used to pay for your booking.
    Yours sincerely,"
... nothing more than that! I checked immediately and the refund was already in the account - dated 3rd March,  but not paid out until 24th July!!! As I said somewhere in the meantime, not bad for RA's cashflow. Accounting-wise, it will presumably show as a same-day refund!
Nothing further from MBNA though, so don't know if they were involved or not. I'm not going to chase them to find out though.
All this does seem to mean that whatever route you take, RA should - within their own preferred timeframe - refund everyone with what they are due. That doesn't in any way excuse their despicable behaviour when O'Leary continually brags about RA's affluence and €4Bn of liquidity.
