Just finished the live chat with them regarding flight refunds. The state of play is that you go into a queue for a cash refund (but only after insisting on a cash refund). If that falls within the voucher period great. If the voucher expires. They'll refund it automatically . It's an absolute disgrace and illegal. Hopefully the government pull their fingers out and force companies to pay up!1

Worth posting here again as with the volume of posts if gets lost....
The quickest way to get on the "Refund List" is via Facebook Messenger. It's an automated bot, but takes 2-3 minutes to give your details to them to be put on the refund queue. You can then screenshot it or save the chat as proof. Twitter seems to have something similar but I've not managed to get that to work as well.0 -
I was in the middle of doing the chargeback, but have seen that they can dispute it and take the money back!0

Whilst that's true, I think it's unlikely they would. If your flight's been cancelled then they haven't provided the service you paid for. A voucher is not a refund so I'm not sure what grounds they would/could dispute a chargeback. The law is on the side of the consumer.debbilou said:I was in the middle of doing the chargeback, but have seen that they can dispute it and take the money back!1 -
The only problem you have is that Ryanair are a Rublic of Ireland based company and there si not a lot the UK Government can do about it toehr than via the EU and we know where they stand with the EU.deanh81 said:Just finished the live chat with them regarding flight refunds. I am in the same boat as most people (cancelled fight, refund requested, voucher offer sent) but found it difficult via “chat boys ” and customer service / e-mail to express my non-acceptance of the voucher. I was concerned that they might view silence as consent. So I have sent a (signed for £6.21) letter to Ryanair customer service in Ireland explaining my refusal and asking for my legally entitled cash refund within 7 days. I doubt I will be successful- but don’t want them pulling another stunt in 20210
