Keep trying to get through.
Hope that the adverse publicity from Martin Lewis and other newspapers shames Ryanair into simplifying the processEx forum ambassador

annecumberland said:I also applied for cash refund and got voucher. It's really hidden in emails how to reapply again for cash. Painstaking and time consuming, Ryanair makes it difficult. Their chatline is the way to go. Agent cancelled voucher and I'm on list for cash refund now. I have submitted a retail dispute chargeback with my bank. Will be interested to see what the outcome of this is. I was told that as Ryanair have provided a resolution (in the form of a voucher rather than the refund I requested) that it may be declined.
Will have to wait and see.Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000

They have failed in their legal duty to refund within the specified timeframes, and while some slack was given, the legislation will be upheld to the letter. I've chosen in part to do this instead of through the Credit Card provider as it looks like it will be quicker from the current estimated timescales.
What Ryanair don't know (and probably don't care) is that after being stranded abroad by one of their competitors (who have refunded in fairness to them and are now considering costs of alternative flights) when trying to get back to the UK due to a critically ill relative, my patience with any airline right now is already extremely thin. Ryanair have probably doubled the debt owed if this goes to enforcement through nobody's fault but their own.
Do I care? Not at all. Will it be the quickest way to get the money? Probably yes, especially as they have around 100 large flying things sat around UK airports that will easily clear the debt.💙💛 💔0 -
My claim has been rejected. Is this legal?
"We regret the cancellation of your flight FR4758 from Gran Canaria to Bristol on the 2020-03-21, which was due to the current worldwide COVID-19 crisis.
As per interpretive guidelines on EU passenger rights, announced by the EU commission on cancellations caused due to COVID-19, this is now classified as an extraordinary circumstance and compensation does not apply under EU261/2004".

You are entitled to a refund for your cancelled flight. You won't get compensation though as Covid19 is considered an extraordinary circumstance outside of the airlines control. What exactly did you ask for and how did you put a claim in?0 -
We applied for 3 refunds and have been offered vouchers. We specifically requested refunds and cannot get through on phone lines or webchat to sort this issue out.0

After getting that e-mail with voucher instead of a refund, I followed the link to get cash, it sent me to there Web page and all the way to the bottom there is a panel that says to join a que for a refund that will be looked at AFTER covi-19 is over... that is rediculas.. I am over 71 and considered at high risk... I may not survive that long... is this what Ryanair is hopping for??.
I have made a section 75 claim.. agent at bank was supper helpful and astounded at Ryanair.

i applied for my refund immediately on cancellation. i have received emails saying that the refund is being
processed. subsequent emails indicate delays due to coronavirus demands. Yesterday i received an email advising i can get a voucher immediately, and can still apply for a cash refund, but this will not be processed until the coronavirus issue has fully passed!. as i have emails confirming that my refund would be processed within 7 days i contacted my bank, as i paid on my credit card and requested a refund through them. they have said they will get back to me within 4-5 days . watch this space!!0
