Mabel - I kept nagging Chief Execs dept with regular emails whenever anything went wrong. Also my Tonik account was accurate as I threatened them with legal action earlier in the year over their accounting system and they sorted it out0

I was promised a back dated tarrif and my tonik
refuns neither have occurred awaiting a call today. I had my final bill weeks ago I cancelled my switch based on these promises. Not happy

Worry wart - have you emailed the Chief Exec? If not that would be a good place to go. I have found the Chief Execs office the only people in SP who are even remotely competent. Also, again if you haven't done this, ask for email confirmation of any offers, promises etc. They cannot get out of things if you have proof0

Hi Malchester yes I have, I asked for
email proof but that didn’t happen, shall see what happens with the promised phone call today.

I didn't switch because I was still on a really good deal and I thought switching whilst they are having major system problems was likely to end in tears.
I take it ex-Tonik customers are moving away from SP.
Octopus seems to get mentioned a lot. Where else are people going?

British Gas are offering a cheap tariff at the moment but I'm worried about the 'smart meter only' condition.Smart meters mean that energy prices could potentially be adjusted dynamicaly based on demand. Could that mean more profit for energy companies?0

I've consistently resisted having smart meters but I think the latest ones don't have the compatibility ones of the first generation.
I'm not so 'anti' now. No doubt like BG, suppliers will offer better rates to consumers with smart meters just like they've done with those that pay by direct debit.Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"0 -
Try BG Evolve. They r a digital only part of BG. I switched there from SP as soon as I could. Not the cheapest when I switched but not far down the list. Have been impressed with their customer service. They don't appear on BG website but have their own, google it. It's a fixed tariff with no exit fees and they don't require a smart meter. Benefit of an established org not going to go out of business0
