Hey guys, this is pretty important. So I'm stuck in limbo, waiting for SP to move the account. The new Shell Energy deal is best for me, but expires in 10 days... should I switch now whilst SP are still trying to move me over, is that not going to confuse the hell out of everything.
Who did you speak to on Twitter as well? Scottish Power customer service?
I also want to get away from SP as soon as possible - but don't want to loose my £142 credit balance either (which i know i won't but will get more and more painful to get back as I start adding on complications!)0 -

Bark01 said:Just had one of the most awful phone conversations with a customer service bods I can remember. Fairly sure it was off shore and the first 5 mis we're pretty much read from a script.
I was told Tonik customers would be activated by Scottish Power at the end of November and I would be free to swap to another supplier at that point. I complained about being forced into a 25% increase and held there for 6 weeks. They said it was Toniks fault for not producing final bills and there was nothing they could do. I said I'd already had my final bill, the SP person seemed surprised and went to check the national database, 10 mins on hold later... she came back and said my supply would transfer on the 9th Nov.
SP also told me they had set up my DD with them; surprise, surprise its exactly the same as my Tonik DD despite my personal projection on the new tariff being 25% higher. How many people is this going to fool into thinking they are on a SP tariff that is comparable to their Tonik one, very naughty! Also bare in mind that I only know my new prices from researching them, Scottish power haven't told me in writing what tariff I'd be on or what my DD would be. I only got confirmation by calling them myself.
My timeline is:
22nd Sept - Email from SP confirming they have my details and readings and they will be taking over supply from the 10th Oct.
3rd Nov -Tonik emailed to say they produced a final bill and it was available at their portal. I checked and everything's in order credit balance in place contract ended on the 10th
My guess is you'll swap to SP 7 days after you receive your Tonik energy final bill.
No Idea how long it will take to get my credit back though!
1) Tonik Energy customer
2) I've had my final Tonik bill
3) I'm want to leave
4) I spoke to you collegue last week they told me I'd swap supply to SP on the 9th (yesterday).
5) Has this happened?
30 seconds of mumbled nonsense later, I was told all Tonik customer would transfer at the end of the month. I said that's not case people have transferred already, can you check the national database - Apparently the computer says no...
I work in the industry, so sent an IM to one of my colleagues 2 mins later I had confirmation that the national database has me live with SP. I've now started a transfer to PFP Energy.
I was going to transfer to Simplicity cabbage, but whilst that tariff is showing on comparison sites it was pulled from sale yesterday.
I will also be complaining :
I've still not had any official in writing confirmation from SP stating what tariff I'm on or what my DD will be.
I know from this forum and also from one SP CSA that I'm currently being charged 25% higher but my DD hasn't been changed. Both very bad especially the DD not changing, I'm sure Ofgem will take a very dim view of the DD being used to mask the price increase.
Its likely that I will subject to the 25% price hike for 2 winter months.
Whilst price increase notification regulations don't apply to SLOR, what's happening here goes against the spirit of them. I'd like price hold to apply by reimbursing any loss I encounter. My annual bill is 1200 so without even factor in the high winter consumption I'd be £50 out of pocket. (Which coincidental is usually what the ombudsman would award for basic failure)
Appalling off shore customer service, as a new customer I'd expect SP to want to show me how great they are. This has hands down been the worst few calls I've ever had with a supplier.

To those that have already started switching to another provider, is your Tonik credit balance, if you're in credit, showing in your Scottish Power account?0

Separately - I've just spoken to switch to London Power (my cheapest provider) & they said as database has me live with SP on 5 Nov now, I have to wait a further 28 days to move supplier as it's an industry standard - so to call back on 3 December - so I'd be interested to know how you others are able to switch already? Any advice greatly appreciated!!

Hi. I am already underway switching to British Gas Evolve. It has not been blocked and the expected date of going live with BG Evolve is 26 Nov so it can be done. As for contradictory info, I have had 4 different answers to the same question in one conversation!!!!!1

Ok if helpful to anyone - I called London Power back as they advised need to await 28 day industry standard & call back on 3 Dec. Based on Malchester's switch being underway - I called London Power back and they've told me to now call back on Monday to comply with the 17 day something or other....they also suggested I contact ScottishPower to find out what date they will let me switch, so am just waiting to hear back from them...0

It's an absolute joke! Thanks for the Twitter link - they have been helpful ish.... they have finally cleared up all the Direct Debits on my bank account. So that's a bonus. Currently being told I have to wait for my welcome pack and that's the default answer..... but I want to get out! Just don't want to complicate things and mess it up - guess I'll have to sit pretty for the moment and miss out on the energy deals that are about.
@Bark01
You'll have to let me know how you get on with PFP - that's the cheapest tariff closest to the Tonik energy for me too but the customer service comments put me off! Shell Energy was next..... all more expensive than the Tonik tariff I was on!0 -
How did you guys get a Scottish Power account? I've given them my info and received my final bill (I'm in credit), and just waiting for a SP account before I can begin to compare tariffs and move away if needed.0
