Got this message 2 days ago! Gutted! So back on the search for someone to do the kitchen units.Went online and managed to find someone else. Talked to the fabricator and he sounded promising. Have sent him email with the measurements and drawings I have done. Also sent him some pictures for inspiration/mood board. He has said he will try and do quote and send to me next week. If I am happy with cost he will then come and do a survey then kitchen will be ready in 6 to 8 weeks. So ladies I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be 1. affordable and 2. keep his word to do it 3. will produce a good product. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞Initial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £258k, target £243,750(halfway!)

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, and need to think of it as at least he didn't start then realise he wasn't up to it after making a mess. It is better that he was honest.
I have some great news today - the window has finally arrived and has been installed. Apart from the window sill and some plastering around the new window opening, the building work has been done. We are almost ready for painting again.
I now have a 4 bed house. I hope to get it valued again once the rooms have been decorated, but sure it has gone up more that what I have spent on it.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Thank you @slm6002 🤞. Wow this is really great news and exciting that you have completed your building work! I say complete as now window has arrived! Painting is a breeze! Well done! It was worth the effort as you have added value to the house! But more importantly the children will each have their own space!Initial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £258k, target £243,750(halfway!)

Feeling very pleased with myself today. Found a great corner desk ( I do the odd day working from home) and a storage unit in Lidl. £79.99 for them both. That will be my home office nearly sorted. Beautiful day here today.I’m decluttering, drinking frozen cocktails and watching Eurovision in that order0

Good morning laddies. Hope yesterday was a good day for you all? Was at home just doing motherly duties. Drove my daughter to spend a day at her friend’s house which is about 40 minutes away in the area we moved from when I bought this house. Had to go and pick her in the evening. Also took the time to drop off a ball which a friend of my son had left when he came for a sleep over some months ago. Football had gone over fence and was thrown back after he had left. Sons friend also lives in that old neighbourhood where we were living before. So managed to do two errands yesterday regards children.Other than that did not achieve much as was feeling very tired so just sat around in the garden enjoying the nice weather.Today I am meeting a friend for pub lunch, that should be a nice outing. Have not been to the said pub hopefully the environment and food is okay. It’s in my town centre so it will be nice to know.Toilet in upstairs bathroom the waste pipe is leaking(past few days) so only using downstairs toilet at present! (Leaks when you flush so have instructed children not to use.) when bathing no leak so only toilet affected. Really hard when you are used to two toilets as there is a queue in the morning. I have a handyman coming to look at it today so as to say when he can fix it. Did not want to venture into trying to fix the toilet myself although I don’t think it will be that hard? Will also ask him to sort out some door handles which I have been meaning to change but might aswell have him do it.The preps for the kitchen are well under way. Extraction Hood was delivered (I might have mentioned already), yesterday dishwasher was delivered. Tomorrow cooker will be delivered.
On another exciting news the car I ordered last September will finally be delivered tomorrow! 🎉🥳! It will be brought to the house, I have sorted out insurance and all so I will be good to go! On one of my birthdays I bought myself a personal number plate. Have had it for about 5yrs never assigned it to a car but decided now is the time to use it as turning 50 and change of car to a differ by brand. Many people I know have a birthday party for their 50 but I just didn’t want to throw a party for myself. If I was still married I think husband would have done a surprise party for me but oh well life must go on. Will celebrate my 50th with a new car I guess? Give myself a present as it were. I requested that they sort out registering/assigning personal number plate to car so it’s already done on delivery so that l don’t have to fuff around after. Really excited but also aware I have to learn new in car functions.(The plan is to now remember one number plate for the rest of my deriving days.)So far it’s overcast on my end of London, hood it becomes sunny later.Mortgage is going out tomorrow, balance will go to below £400k for the first time, unfortunately due to interest it will go back to just over £400k at the end of the months. Will wait for June payment when it will be less that £400k forevermore!Initial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £258k, target £243,750(halfway!)

When is your birthday Sistergold? I’m 43 on Friday and head to Majorca on Friday for 4 nights solo.I’m not a big fan of birthdays, I went to Lanzarote for a week for my 40th. I can’t quite explain it but they make me feel uneasy, I think I picked it up from my Mother who absolutely hates them and goes into a depressive episode every year for her own. She always says what’s to celebrate being another year older. No wonder I’m not fussed on them lol.Glad to hear your finally getting your car, nothing better than a new car and that new car smell. Health to drive. Not planning on doing much today, will do a dump run and pack up some more bits. Feel like a pretty lazy Sunday tbh.0
