@Sistergold thanks! All good advice. I agree that having my own place will help me psychologically. I've had a few difficulties with family these last few years which has added to my anxieties around managing on my own but I know I am a survivor and usually I wobble then pick myself up higher.

My half of equity I built over 13 years and I am proud of that. We bought a house together in 2007 and went on a mission to clear the mortgage. When we saw the interest we would save by paying off early it became a bit of a game so both committed to overpaying. Towards the end I was making overpayments of £1k a month which was a large chunk of my earnings. Sadly we didn't make much over what we originally paid, when we came to sell it in 2020, just missed the buying frenzy in North Devon.

Very impressed with the overpayments you are making @Sistergold Well Done.

@fantasyvsreality, relationships breakups do have a way of poor timing. It is not so bad when like in your case you came out with some cash despite not selling at hight of the market. Imagine if you had not over paid at all? Years ago for those who broke up and were in negative equity? Life can hit hard sometimes, thank goodness you are in a position to plan to buy. Late 40s/50s can be so scary without a good deposit. Luckily soon we will be celebrating with you when you get your new house! More power to singles! 💃🏾

    Ladies help!
What should I make the depth of the hanging cabinet over the American fridge freezer?
The fridge freezer is about 70cm deep. Should I make the unit 40cm or 60cm or 70cm deep?. Not sure if it should be flush with front of fridge freezer?
Anyway I am making progress. Met with the kitchen fabricator this morning, will get a quote in a week, and kitchen will have been fabricated by end of June! Quote permitting ofcause! Ordered appliances are being delivered slowly so there is no going back! Excited!

Beautiful! Always makes sense to move the boiler elsewhere!
