I used their online contact form to submit a question, asking why my insurance waiver had been ignored in favour of a voucher. The response was an email, 'thanks for your mail, replies to this email are not monitored'. Total joke.

Started the ball rolling, made an online claim using the small claim court process. I'll happily go to court and speak myself, I don't need a solicitor.
I dont blame you but dont you need to show the court you have made efforts to resolve it yourself first? Emails, a Letter Before Action etc?
I did try to make contact, I received a generic fob off email.

You probably should send them a letter via Recorded Delivery also, giving them 30 days to resolve to your satisfaction before you take action.

You dont want it rejected because it is deemed you havent done enough to resolve it before going legal.
Pointless attempting to engage further with this company.

The first stage of the small claims is a chance for the those who you've made a claim against to settle this amicably without any involvement of the court. They will receive a letter from the court and have an option to refund me immediately and I can cancel the action online in a few clicks. Its all set up to avoid any further steps.

Refund my parking and my 25 quid fee, not asking too much.

Will do, I'll update this thread.

Like I said it's the principle, not the money. I could take this hit quite easily, but why should I. If I get nowhere, I've lost £25, worth it just to know I've made the effort.

I don't think it's an issue of getting nowhere,  it's more an issue of getting paid when you win ( as long as you done it correctly and by your posts I believe you will)

  • I had booked £98 parking at Birmingham Airport. Had to cancel due to pandemic on 17th March. Was promised a refund to my credit card, have invoice saying so but now they fob me off with vouchers. I won't be travelling in the next few years so vouchers no good at all. Will never use Holiday Extras again.

Try a Chargeback on your credit card,  that might work.

Just thought I'd update this post. I have had an email today from Holiday Extras saying I will be receiving a refund minus the administration charges. Not sure what has triggered this. Whether it's the tweets, messages, joining the Facebook page for HE refunds or commencing the CC dispute process. However I did message them yesterday and one of the new questions was - are you an NHS worker? I ticked the box and attached my NHS ID. Low and behold I had an email today confirming the refund. Could be a coincidence- but refund supposedly on the way.

So they are now choosing to only refund NHS workers? Surely not. Sod everyone else but the NHS can have their money back 🙄
