  • I have had the same problem with them - I have now reported Holiday Extra's of the Gov Website - they have a specific page for companies that are refusing refunds and acting this way. Hopefully the more people that complain about them on this site might mean soemthing will be doen to help us

I've also done that, it will raise awareness if nothing else.
  • I am having the same issue. Originally advised that they would refund. Now only being offered a voucher. Had paid for cancellation waiver but this has not changed their view. Less than £100 so section 75 not an option. Trying chargeback through the credit card company used. No problems with EasyJet (flights) or Expedia (hotel) who have each refunded.

Another FB message posted by Holiday Extras just now clearly washing their hands of those who paid for the cancellation insurance. The bit in bold will annoy many....

I can see the end for Holiday Extras
They will end up being forced to pay out,  and they will have lost the goodwill of all their customers

Its an absolute ****'s trick they have pulled, and I am someone who didnt book the cancellation insurance and was more than happy with a voucher refund.

I wont be use them again once I have spent the voucher balance up.

I think they will lose the majority of their customers through this and most probably go out of business. Feel sorry for all the staff that will more than likely lose their jobs. But it's not a way to run a 'Business' (if you can call it that!!)

The trouble they have coming up is the cause in their T&Cs they are using, that basically says they can keep everyone's money  and not pay out a single penny.
It is the most once sided T&Cs I have ever seen, and will ever see.
They have no hope of defending it under the The Consumer Rights Act 2015

My car & park and hotel was over £100 so easier to claim on credit card.
I would have taken them to court if under that amount, with the risk of not getting paid when i won as they have gone under.
Normally I would say "if I won" but I have no doubt that I would win.

I booked purple parking, originally Stansted and paid extra for cancellation waver. BA cancelled the flight in January, nothing to with covid 19, and I received a refund from purple parking. I changed the flights and rebooked the parking to Gatwick.

Flights are now cancelled due to the pandemic and purple parking issue a voucher even though I paid extra again for the cancellation wavier.

It's only 68 quid, but I've decided on principle to go through the smalls claims court to recover the money. It will cost me 25 quid, see what happens.
