  • Thank you all. I found a job online that actually looked way better than my current one other than the possibility of having to relocate which I really don’t want but I put my name down to be notified should my region be hiring. It’s a long shot but it made me feel good to start thinking about taking control.

I am not looking forward to Christmas as I really don’t want to go out to a busy restaurant where others could be infected.

I’ve been really lazy so far this week and still need to wrap all my presents so I must do that tomorrow!
I really want to go on a nice long walk with my young dog too.

I have some ingredients to make dog treats so must do that and I wanted to bake a freezer recipe and some cinnamon rolls.

Maybe if I start my day with enough coffee I can get that all done 😬

I also have a tonne of laundry to finish as I had to emergency wash all my bed sheets and throws as my old dog was sick bless him. I only have so much drying space though and the sheets and blankets take it up.

I was looking for some replacement running shoes but resent that I bought my current ones 2 years ago in the sales for £75 and now the cheapest I can find them in the sales are £110! It’s the exact same shoes I’m trying to buy!

I have quite liked having birthday money to spend as usually my fun money gets spent on other things and I end up not buying myself anything so it’s been lovely allowing myself some treats.

I will get paid tomorrow(well today) so I’ll be able to buy some additional January investment with my Christmas bonus (which I’m grateful for but has stayed the same for 6 years … inflation doesn’t apply here hehe!)

I should go to bed. As soon as I’m off work I turn into a complete night owl

  • Life is down to your decisions, who knows maybe the role could be the one.

Hope you managed to get everything done. We throw bedding over the doors to dry as it keeps the clothes horse (or whatever they are called nowadays) free for everything else.

Keep looking for the shoes, you'll find some more reasonable.

  • So someone at our Christmas lunch tested positive today and now I’m sure I’m going to get infected too 🙈 I have been so careful throughout and so annoyed as I wanted to enjoy meeting friends for a run on my holidays. I know legally I don’t have to isolate without symptoms/positive test but I’d never forgive myself if I caused my friends to get infected 😞
  • Can you do LFs and see what they say for a few days, run alone and do virtual meetings until you know either way.

I'm sorry the holiday hasn't turned out how you hoped.

  • So far no symptoms and I’m testing negative so I’m hoping ive been lucky.

I’ve noticed a damp patch in my kitchen is getting worse. It first started bubbling when my upstairs neighbours had a bad leak which came through my hallway light switch and the alcove above my kitchen window the paint bubbled. This was over a year ago now.

Recently I’ve noticed the area bubbling more and a few more pop up around it. I scraped the paint off and left it.

Now white mould is growing on the patch. Is it damp or just because it’s bare plaster now?

do I need to do anything other than bleach it? Maybe there’s another slow leak? I do always put the kitchen fan on when cooking but it probably does still get a bit humid at times. Any ideas what I should do? Home maintenance confuses me
  • Bleach it a few times, put damp / stain block paint on and repaint the ceiling.

Go to an auction site, look up readers digest DIY book as it's only a couple of quid to buy. First thing I did after buying my flat is get the old RD DIY manual.

Start looking up YT videos and empower yourself with basics as it will get you out of situations and save money.

  • I definitely need to learn DIY. There’s several jobs I need to do I’ve been putting off like removing and re-silicone the bath and windows, repairing holes around a window that was fitted badly including a hole in the bricks outside and repairing a leak from next doors patio gutters that drain into my garden and stain my wall
