Well , I've had a BA flight booked via loveholidays cancelled for 31st August (checked the ba app ) and I can confirm that the process via manage my booking is simple . It's part of a package and  they do need to find a new flight

It's now a two stage process to log on to manage my booking , you enter your booking reference and lead passenger name into the website and it then emails you a link to click and log on.

I'll update the thread as things progress

Thanks for that @Browntoa.    My daughter is in such a mess with her Loveholiday booking - some of it her own doing for jumping the gun and not listening to my advice!.   She is due to travel on 12th July to Tenerife and she got word from Ryanair in May that her return flight had been cancelled.   She panicked and went online and cancelled it but then realised she had cancelled the outgoing one also (which was still showing as active)!  (I am not familiar with the site so don't know how she did this)   Anyway she then panicked more and got in touch with Ryanair (how I don't know) and they said they would give her vouchers!    And that's the last she has heard from anybody so now I have no idea if she has burnt her bridges with Love Holidays by jumping in or  IF the hotel is going to be open?  As she can't get a response from them either.    Just one heck of a mess and I am on here daily trying to find out if she just has to accept she has screwed up or if she would be able to rebook somehow?   I seem to be able to know some answers for others but am stuck with this!

Loveholidays today say they are working up to 5th July so guess at some point they will get to 12th?    (Edited to add:   she has left numerous messages on her account section with Love Holidays but of course, no response as yet)

Will watch your progress with interest.

yes I have done that and mentioned to them that both flights are cancelled as per BA's website.I was under the impression that if the promised flights are cancelled this accounts to the agreed service not being delivered and hence a claim to cancel?

Update - after informing LH on Tuesday I also sent an email today morning. Received an update in the evening with a link to my booking. There was another section added within for Covid in manage booking and it gave me 3 options -

    1) a refund credit note for the value of my hotel and not flights. Plus a £100 bonus added. It had no mention whatsoever about flight refunds there. This note would also be ATOL protected and valid until 30-06-2021.

    2) change the holiday dates with no penalty to hotels but have to reach out to airlines and change my booking directly with them. If there is a difference in cost I have pay it.

    3) apply for a cash refund - the process can take up to 6 months and will be paid in parts. And they will write within 30 days to confirm status and next steps if any.

i went with the cash refund option as I don’t mind waiting for a few months for the money to come back..

LH are pathetically slow and maybe terrible at communication but guess most of them are these days. But on an overall note I think the holiday industry needs to be regulated a bit more well with more accountability.

Separate claim ( not the one I mentioned earlier) holiday cancelled in full last month . Received an email with options , chose refund , another email received with a phone number . Rang number and got straight through , entered their reference , listened to long message and at the end "if you wish to receive a refund to your original payment method press 1 "

Will update on timescales for that happening

    Just got this :-

    loveholidays

Thanks for telling us about the change to your flights – we’re sorry for the delay in contacting you. Because of the number of holidays affected by coronavirus (COVD-19), it’s taking us longer than we’d like to get back to each customer individually. We’re working through these requests by departure date, prioritising those departing soonest.

Please be assured that we’ve got your details and will be in touch to confirm your options and what’s next. Just so you know, this may be in the days before your planned departure.
If your flight’s been cancelled and you don’t have a replacement flight:
We’re doing our best to find you a suitable alternative. At the moment, airline schedules and availability are changing all the time so this may not be possible in every case. If we can’t find an alternative, we’ll cancel your booking and you’ll have the option to rebook, request a refund credit note or request a refund. Don’t worry – we’ll talk you through all this.
If you’ve already found or booked a replacement flight, or your flight was changed but you’re still travelling:
We’ll be in touch to help you with any holiday arrangements that need to be updated, such as hotels and transfers.
Thank you for your patience in bearing with us.

  • I am due to fly to Cyprus on 1st August.

Tui informed me 2nd july that flights were cancelled and I raised a change of flight notification in my bookings. Got the same generic email as above yesterday.

I just want a refund as a couple of days notice whether they  sourced new flights is no good to me, you need a covid test with 72 hrs prior to travel to Cyprus and I'd need to arrange a test for me and my wife and  try to get time off work to go and get it done.

And if they inform me only 2 days that they can't get another flight then it leaves it to late to book a new holiday with someone else.

I'm planning to book my own flight to replace the cancellation .

I'm emailing the hotel directly , they confirmed my booking has been paid for and I'm telling them under no circumstances to let loveholidays cancel it as I'm still travelling .
