Love holidays

Hi
I am really unsure what to do, I booked a love holidays package deal to the algarve, set to leave on 25th May. Now Ryanair have been in touch and cancelled my flights but love holidays have not cancelled the holiday so I was offered by Ryanair to book new dates which I took for the end of July hoping flights will be back up by then. Now love holidays are letting me change the hotel dates for almost 4 times the original price and want all this paid by the 4th of May.

I know I can get a cheaper hotel but I was wondering if anyone knows if cancelling the holiday and literally losing all the money now my flights are back on, is my only option as I can’t afford to pay the £800 excess for the hotel in 3 weeks time.
Can I keep my flights with Ryanair and cancel the love holidays booking because I am happy to book directly with another hotel to suit my flight dates.
I would ideally like to keep my flights as they are paid for but through love holidays.
Any help would be appreciated please

Hi there, First time posting so apologise if posted in wrong area. We were due to travel on 2nd April to Turkey and booked the holiday (inc jet2 flights) through loveholiday. Luckily we were able to stop the final payment coming out however we've paid £1250 to love holidays and they've only issued us a £31 credit note stating the rest of the money we've paid went on the flights and we need to contact jet2 as they will not talk to them, only the lead passenger. On jet2 website they have written if flights are booked via beaches or loveholidays website then to speak to them to get refunded as well as having a email stating the same! So both parties are claiming we need to contact the other, surely this isn't right, as loveholidays are our travel agent and we paid the money to them they should act on our behalf to claim the money back? We are so upset as we just want our money back (like many others). Any advice please!0

I was also under the same impression as yourself, you paid LH who would then pay Jet2 for the flights do your contract is with the travel agent.
What does your contractsay regarding cancellations ?1 -
on jet2 website.
But through numerious livechats with loveholiday they are claiming only lead passanger can contact jet2 as they are an independent agent so are unable to claim money back on our behalf.

Agree , jet2 say on their website to contact loveholidays . I suspect loveholidays won't refund until they see the actual refund from jet2 ( jet2 have been very good with refunds do not an issue ) . I'm assuming loveholidays need to manually requestEx forum ambassador

Where would I see my contact? In the original booking email? Thing is you can only contact jet2 by email now and they are saying reply up to 3 weeks (which I understand due to everything being up in the air - or not!) But that isn't helping as really want our money back ASAP. I know jet2 are saying they are getting in touch with customers but we were due to fly 10 days ago.0

I know this isnt really helpful advice now, but next time book direct and dont involve a middleman.1

Thanks, we always do normally but this was our first all inclusive holiday for my 40th so wanted something easy! How we have learnt!

Would have been just as easy booking it direct on the Jet2 website tbh. But anyway you get the idea.0

You are correct that your contract is with the agent so it's through them you pursue the refund. However, might there be a problem caused by you stopping the final payment? In most cases that would be considered cancellation by you. Tread carefully because the agent may hide behind that.1
