Yes, if they misled you into taking a voucher, go back and complain and refuse the new voucher conditions.iKarlCPFC said:So I applied for a travel voucher earlier in the month because they told me I was eligible and it can be used on current future bookings. Later I got an email saying I can't get the voucher which is fine. But I've now had an email saying I have a voucher but it can only be used for new bookings. Can I go back to them saying I don't want it?

Quick update to say that I waited on hold for 20 minutes to BA this morning (pretty good I thought) and got a refund of both the cash and Avios points. No hassle,Life__Goes__On said:"
Yes, they need to fully refund you including points, but understand you might not want to chase the points if it's not many.JSco said:
Thanks! Thought that would be the case. I booked direct, I’m a silver member so used some points but not that many and not bothered about getting them back. So far I’ve taken vouchers for BA flights booked for work trips but for an expensive family holiday I’d really rather have the cash back.Life__Goes__On said:"
You are entitled to a full refund on all legsJSco said:Hello, apologies if someone has already asked similar but can anyone advise if I’m due a full flight refund if only one leg of my flight has been cancelled by BA? We have flights booked departing Edinburgh on 27 June to NYC, returning from Orlando 17 July, both ways we change flights in London. They have today emailed to say that the Edinburgh to Heathrow flight has been cancelled. The four flights are all on the same booking so does anyone know if I’m entitled to a refund just on the first portion just now or if I have a right to claim a refund for the full amount? We have no expectation of going on this trip but if we were there are currently no BA flights available which we could change to and make our connecting flight to JFK unless we travelled down the night before. I know that I’ll need to call BA to request a refund but weighing up whether to wait until the other three flights are cancelled/FCO guidance still in place at time of travel or go and sit in the queue now, thanks
Who did you book with?
Will summon up the energy to phone them and see how I get on.
no mention of a voucher, very straightforward. Points already back on my account, email confirming the cash refund in my inbox and advised that it may take up to 15 days for the refund to process. Very happy with that so long as the refund appears.

Could you update when (hopefully soon) you receive the money back.

I had my money credited back on to my card a few days after receiving the email from BA to confirm refund . It took a few days to show, but the date of the refund was the same date of the email.Life__Goes__On said:Thanks for the update, helps us to help others.

After I spoke to BA and they confirmed the refund, the money was back on credit card after about 2 days I think (it was over Easter so may have been a bit longer)1

I wasn’t hopeful of getting a flight refund after being cut off a couple of times and then having to ring again. Reading all the problems people were having I was convinced I was going to join the long list of disgruntled customers but I have to say BA have not let me down. I must have hit lucky with the person I dealt with because after phoning 27 April, refund was in my bank 1 May. I hope everyone is sorted out soon as it is a big worry, wondering if you are ever going to get through to someone on the phone and then if you do, waiting to see if you get your money back.1

Booked flights to North America back in February departing 31st July and returning mid August (£5k). We definitely won’t be going on the trip (due to see family including elderly relatives which unfortunately can’t happen in the current climate). I see BA are now offering vouchers for flights with departures up to 31st July so guess we could take this and use the vouchers at a later point (valid up to April 2022). I was going to sit tight to see if the flight was cancelled so we could get a full refund but I guess there’s a risk the flight will go ahead and we’ll lose the £5k. Does the best course of action appear to be to take the vouchers now?0

Just wait closer to the date of flight and then you can see if flight goes or is cancelled. Cancellation happens at least a few weeks before flight date. You will have enough time to request voucher if flight goes ahead.

Will I still be able to claim a refund though if the flight goes? Just concerned the option for refund is removed for some reason given the uncertainty.0

BA could remove that offer at any time, but it's down to will they?Sundaymorning1 said:Will I still be able to claim a refund though if the flight goes? Just concerned the option for refund is removed for some reason given the uncertainty.
ATM BA really wants people to take vouchers so they don't have to pay a cash refund, that why they are making this offer.
