Just joined a village group planning one person to collect Fish and Chips on Friday. Might be about 10 or twelve households going by the initial response! What a treat for DH! - I shall have egg and chips. Mmmn!

Had fresh asparagus again last night - enough for 6 spears each. Even the stalks were wonderful, it was so fresh. Food miles about 20 paces. Followed it with a very light avocado salad, then ruined our virtuous tea with a smashed up meringue nest, dollop of greek yogurt and the last of the fresh blueberries. Felt like a celebration supper, it was so nice.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here

I am really hoping to get some in my veg box due this morning, but as there is no choice, I’ll have to wait and see! 🤞(I just lurve spiders!)

Suffolk_lass - your pudding wasn't that bad! Meringues are still relatively healthy, far better than something like syrup sponge or sticky toffee pudding! You had it with yoghurt and not cream and had some fresh fruit. I'd happily eat that even though I'm on a healthy eating plan but I wouldn't eat the other puddings!
Absolutely adore asparagus. It seems much earlier than usual this year! It's not usually ready until early May but it seems to have been around for a little while now.

Last night's dinner was dictated by leftovers that would not fit in the freezer! (have run out of small flat containers!) We finished up some thai green chicken curry and rice left from the weekend - supplemented by spouting broccoli. Afters was a bowl of peach & apricot yogurt.

I'm making beef and mushroom stew to use up the mushrooms from last weeks veg box. I also have some greek yoghurt to use up so I'll make some quiche tomorrow I think to use up the leeks, with a couple of rashers of bacon and some cheese. That'll e made with powdered egg.
