Ha! What are we all like! - My go-to ice-cream is a single Dairy vanilla scoop (as big as I can get in the dish, in case you think I am being virtuous) with a small amount of chilled strong black coffee over it, a dribble of cream and a ginger biscuit in lieu of an amaretti - a poor man's affogato - highly recommended!

Time to pick this up again after a six week absence! I'll start - I bought some YS peppers and liberated a portion of minced beef from the freezer and made a ragu with the mince, stuffed the peppers (plus the two yellow ones playing Lurkio in the salad drawer) and we have enough for two meals. So, a light supper with garlic bread and cooked with grated cheese on top - red peppers last night - we will have the others on Wednesday as we are out early. Tonight it will be pesto, broccoli, pasta and topped with a little grated cheese as we have a(nother) busy day with bees and garden stuff to do.

Off to make cucumber soup… a very pleasant recipe we had at someone's house - served warm with a swirl of cream and we will have it for lunches with toast

Found some stewing beef in the freezer over the weekend and have rustled up a stew with lots of veggies! Used up the last of the carrots and celery that had been lurking in the fridge!

Made my first lot of soup yesterday, since eating bolting-lettuce soup in July - we felt so much better, going back to a nutritious vegetable mixture for lunch and finishing off a pack of flatbreads that had been out (opened) for four days.

Like you @rtandon, it involved carrots and celery, along with onions, courgette and a bit of honey with ginger and turmeric, along with herbs and stock.

I have winter squashes curing outside the back door (naturally I picked most the day before it rained properly!). I might liberate a couple to make a veg curry tomorrow. I am out for lunch today so Mr Sl will fend for himself

I made more soup, adding the leftovers of the stir-fry to a veg mix. It really is my favourite simple, nutritious lunch! I have frozen the remnants of the loaf I made, to prevent mould. It is sliced and perfect for toast!

Today I need to sort out and pick remaining garden produce, and compost the squash and tomato plants. I also need to remove the mite treatments at one apiary and check on the two colonies at each of the other two.

There is a tray of tomatoes ripening in the greenhouse - but the one indoors needs processing (just cored, chopped and frozen until we get back from hols) as they are all looking good and ready. I also have some windfall apples to cook and jar up for winter. It all helps keep the cost of living down, using food I have preserved.

My planned pasta last night was with the end of a tub of cream cheese, diluted to a cream with a little pasta water and then mixed with a big dollop from a large jar of pesto. I forgot to add the use up broccoli to the pasta so ended up chopping a courgette and bringing it quickly to the boil to combine with a bit of grated extra mature cheese and the pesto-sauce. With plenty of black pepper it was yummy!
