I missed the community lunch due to bees swarming yesterday (not mine) and four hours helping someone sort all their hives out, but the lovely women organising it sent Mr Sl home with 3 takeaway boxes - chicken curry with rice and cucumber raita (very tasty, no heat) - and a trifle - my second pudding (a ginger and lime cheesecake) went to Mr Sl as he knows (but they don't) that cheesecake is just not my thing. ANyway, happy days. No cooking!

    Not sure about today yet.

Well we were going to have something with mince but now we are having the chicken thighs that were £2.31 for 5 in the Coop when I went for milk. I refused to pay £1.75 (reduced!!) for a single layer of raspberries though! 😲

Goodness yes - things ARE quiet!

I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel on the freezer - although it looks quite full at the moment there is a loaf to be used this weekend (Lil's freebie) and nearly a fortnight's worth of lunchtime rolls so those are taking a fair bit of space.

I bought two packs of chicken thighs when I shopped at the weekend then used Sunday's negative electricity pricing to turn them into a tray of indian spiced roasted and a dish of chicken, broccoli & orzo bake - the bake meant I was able to use up the half tubs of creme fraiche (well over its date but we're both still alive) and soft cheese that were kicking around in the fridge, plus another slosh of the sun-dried tomato oil. That fed us sunday and yesterday. The indian spiced thighs will be going into action this evening with couscous and then I'll probably freeze the remainder to use next week.

Lots of salad in the fridge (and leaves starting to get to pickable stage in the garden - hurrah!), so might do salmon pasta salad as a nice light tea tomorrow.

Reminding myself that there is a small cheesy tear and share bread that needs using up so that will get factored in for the weekend (maybe sliced and pizza-style topped/grilled?)

If there is negative or very low pricing at the weekend again (possible) then I think I'll drag that turkey carcass out (finally!) and make some form of soup…(I might not though - doesn't quite feel like soup weather does it!)
