Hi all have a good start to the weekend, how about a carrot celebration :-) I am recording wha tI eat, will update later. But for now am tidying up, walking the dog, probably a spot of shopping, and then going for a nice long run.
I admire the calorie counters, I am aware of calories - but cant face up to weighing everything. My calorie aim is 17-1800 calories a day which works if I go for a walk, or a run.
Any how its a lovely non rainy afternoon here so can't wait to get out.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Hello for your kind thoughts and best wishes x
Today went as well as it could - very efficient and kind people which is very important - kindness is the most important quality in a health care worker.
Anyway I had some biopsies done (Och) and a mammogram and ultrasound as well as a consultation and breast exam and go back next week for results - so we shall see but the consultant seemed positive so I am too.
I think I will WI on Sunday this week as ice-cream has been consumed as a reward x
Lots of love xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.12 -

Today:
B - little grated cheese on baked beans on slice of seeded white bread
M - coffee, cookie
L - chicken curry and rice (the second portion from last night's D (I live on my own))
(924 calories to that point)
A and D - depends on what I find when I go shopping (serendipity) but have up to 500 calories to play with
I've been working on the basis that 1940 calories is what I (elderly female) should require normally and somewhere between that and 1500 for gradual weight loss. However this afternoon completed a How Many Calories Do I Need quiz (https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/articles/how_many_calories_do_you_need) and discovered it should be 1599 to MAINTAIN my weight (BMI 21.8). To get the maintenance number to 1780, I needed to say I would be exercising 6 or 7 days a week. Only by saying I would exercise twice a day with extra heavy workouts could I reach 1961 calories!
So, it's going to have to be more exercise (but not heavy workouts) and fewer than 1780 calories (which actually has been the case for calories for the past 6 days (but not today obviously).

Good evening everyone
Congratulations to Those who’ve lost 👏Molly glad today went well, best wishes for good results. I should think you deserved the ice cream.
I missed posting yesterday because of a couple of long phone calls. Today I went to the supermarket, and then to the farm shop where I queued for half an hour 😳.Yesterday’s food:
B : porridge
L : cold roast beef, salad (the sort of salad someone described up-thread as “horrible”: crisp lettuce, flavoursome tomatoes and crunchy cucumber); nectarine
AT : slice of fruit cake
D : sausages, cabbage, carrots, celery; plain yogurt
S : none
And today’s food:
B : porridge
L : cheese, salad as yesterday (should have been celery and apple but was too tired to prepare that when I got home from shopping)
AT : none, lunch was late, so no time nor inclination for AT
D : steamed lemon sole, peas, fennel, sautéed mushrooms; strawberries with 60ml vanilla ice cream
S : none“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

@roundtuit that is what happens, the staying in and eating, happens to me a lot in the year when I'm stressed, it rains, or I just feel scrunched up, it's really just a matter of planning for it, trying to substitute foods, plan nice activities, and then just move forwards, what comes easy goes easily. It's the long haul that matters, not what happens on one day or week :-)

Morning xx
Well done to all those who have lost this week xx I am not about to join your ranksI knew it wasn't going to be a happy ending but I got weighed anyway...+ 4 lbs for me this week Brambling. And if you wouldn't mind (1) lending me you ruler _______ and (2) pointing me in the right direction so that I can climb back on to the brightly painted wagon with comfy cushions. Pretty please.
My 'problem' was the opposite of yours monna - with the loosening of restrictions I was home alone in the evening for the first time since lockdown - and I ate. And ate. And ate. Then I got into the eat crap, feel crap, eat crap, feel crappier, eat crappier spiral. Drat and double drat.
Anyway it's done now - so the only thing to do is get on with it and get those 4 lbs back off.
Rxx

So yesterday I was close to the maximum I had set (but more than I need apparently). Today's plan:
B - coffee, half avocado, wholemeal toast with unsalted butter and sour cherry conserve
M - coffee, Kourkoubini
L - pork shoulder steak, new potatoes, peas, carrots
D - fried egg, baked beans
(1467 calories - low enough for weight loss)

I'm daring to show my face again. Comiserations roundtuit. At least we're getting our excuses sorted. My weigh in day and I have to report a STS this week. It's probably more than I deserve, but I'll take it.
OK Roundtuit, we go on from here, right? I will think of you struggling not to eat on your own and you can think of me cooking for somebody else and trying not to join him in eating it. I am going to go back to my mindful eating and stopping when my body calls a halt. It worked before and I enjoyed it, so what happened?
Off we go again. Chin up. Tits out.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Well ice-cream led on to veg crisps which led on to a cake I baked with Dave to take my mind off you know what (having googled it ) so have decided not to WI this week as will just make me feel anxious so shall WI next Friday now x
Love and hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.

Hi all. Well, we have all made it through another week. Those of you who are feeling less than successful, probably you have still eaten less than you might have done before joining this challenge. Tomorrow is another day and remember, you can always "move more" aswell as eating less, insofar as you are able. A walk? A few trips up and down the stairs? 2 mins disco-dancing during the adverts?
You only need to get rid of 3,500 pesky calories for 1lb. You can do this!
Today so far:
Br - 60g cereal + 2 ginger nuts (350)
L - chicken burger+bun with salad; mushrooms on toast (2 slices Danish); Greek yogurt (120+100+10;100+90;55)
D - tbd (675 to play with. Hmm, might squander 150 on some crisps while playing OH at Monopoly later)
This week's discoveries:
1. Puffed Wheat cereal weighs hardly anything, so 30g gives you a whole bowlful! Psychologically excellent.
2. Iceland do nice chicken burgers which are only 118 calories
Off to get a new car battery now. I shall lose quite a lot of pounds doing that - sadly not the right kind.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone.12
