Weigh in Day today and I am reporting another 1.5 lb loss
In the two months since I joined you I have a lost a total of 6lb and possibly slightly more as, like Covid-19 I have a 'range'. Last night was home cooked burger and chips, followed by biscuits and hot choc - I was definitely going to be top of the range todayOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Hello everyone,
Molly good luck for today and oooh....a puppy! We were looking at kitten photos yesterday. Our existing cat hates every other cat that's on the planet though so we won't be having any new friends just yet.
I'd like to report a loss of 3 lbs this week please. I'm still sugar free and although not strictly low carb I'm keeping to 2 slices of small wholemeal bread most days (none at all some days) and a small quantity of potatoes with my evening meal. The potato thing is easy enough as I don't like them much.
The comment about real old style dieting made me think back. When my nana was 21 she was 5 ft 4 tall and weighed 7 stone. This was achieved by walking to and from work every day and having cream cakes for her evening meal. My other great aunt remembered being sent to buy the afore mentioned cakes every day. Once my nana and her sister were in their fifties (my youngest great aunt was much younger - she was the baby of the family), any attempt to diet began with the purchase of a bottle of PLJ. I've just checked to see if it's still being made and it is - the website also says "supports weight loss". The salads that went with these weight loss attempts were horrible. Sliced ham or salmon with a sliced tomato, some lettuce leaves and half a sliced boiled egg. I remember them well as I was a fussy eater and the jelly round the tinned ham was the stuff of nightmares.
I take old style to mean "cook from scratch" rather than buy something in a box. To that end, I've ordered a small ice cream maker so that the HT and I can have a go at making some low calorie ice cream. It's the most enthusiastic I've seen him about anything kitchen related in a long time. I know that I could do it the old fashioned way by putting the mix in a box in the freezer and beating it every so often but I've wanted an ice cream maker ever since I had my own flat at the age of 24. I wanted a hand mixer too and I bought one of those, I still have the hand mixer 29 years later and I feel that I've talked myself out of the ice cream maker for long enough.......
Oh crumbs, I've written a story instead of a post. I'll leave you all pondering the effectiveness of PLJ and go and crack on with what I'm supposed to be doing. Take care all of you12 -
Remember Pure Lemon Juice so well - recommendation was to put some in a glass of water for your first drink of the day, presumably to take the edge off your appetite. I suppose that's still suggested.
Yesterday was another day at keeping to the plan. Today:
B - little grated cheese on baked beans on slice of seeded white bread
M - coffee, cookie
L - chicken curry and rice (the second portion from last night's D (I live on my own))
(924 calories to that point)
A and D - depends on what I find when I go shopping (serendipity) but have up to 500 calories to play with

Now I was thinking lime juice rather than lemon which I think was in our house
Well done Supersaver & Cranky some good numbers there
I hope today goes ok Mollybut exciting news re the puppy is it another Westie? I have to be a one cat household as well
Cranky good luck with experimenting with the ice cream maker, I would need to rejig room in my freezer to fit in the ice cream so it's probably just as well I don't have onewhen it's hot i have been know to blitz frozen berries with yoghurt to make an instance ice cream. I also remember the 1970s uninspiring salads with salad cream if you were lucky
Right best get on as a busy day planned by the managernot sure about food but I have taken some HM turkey soup out of the freezer which will be dinner as we are due to work late tonight so i can ping on the go if need be

Since then we've added PLj Lime Juice. . . ".
Looks like they have changed to a lower case J (so the j has a drop of juice in the dot?)
Brambling - perhaps we are different generations - or the lime went with drinks in the cocktail cabinet.

I'm a child of the 60s and 70s . It was probably my older sisters who had it rather than mum but i do remember the bottles of Rose Lime juice as well.

Hi,
Good luck today Molly.
Well done super saver on your loss and fitting into more clothes and Cranky on your loss.
I’m not familiar with plj but I loved the jelly round the tinned ham when I was little. I added retro style salads on a plate to our menus last year when I realised every salad we ate was the tossed type in a big bowl. I just need one of those egg slicer thingies now.
Weigh day for me -2lbs please Brambling.
Unexpected as historically I sts on week 3 on the many diets I’ve been on including the last time I did this diet.
Yesterday I had a short coffee with cream whilst out that wasn’t on the plan.
Today’s menu
Breakfast: overnight peanut butter oats, Greek yoghurt, strawberries, desiccated coconut. Coffee with cream.
Lunch: piri piri chicken and veg kebab, minted yoghurt dip and side salad.
Afternoon snack: nuts
Dinner: salmon fillet, dill, asparagus, mangetout. Lemon cheese cake with almond base
Evening snack: milk chocolate.
Take care all

Yeehah, another 1lb gone when I weighed myself this morning! OH hasn't commented on either my dieting or the absent 9 lbs yet. He did look at my pizza, air fried wedges and salad yesterday lunch time, laughed and said "are you sure you've got enough food there?". He in turn troughed 2 meat pasties and a Muller fruit corner at a total of over 1000 calories, in addition to the 800 or so he had shifted at breakfast. 😯
Today's plan:
Br - porridge (350)
Lu - 2 wholemeal sandwich thins with ham&tomato; biscuit bar (200,60, 15,120)
Di - haddock in batter (Lidl, our weekly treat), mash, peas (200,160,60) + cake (200)
Total about 1500.
Yesterday I was lusting after a couple of Jaffa cakes I had hidden in the utility room (OH rarely sets foot in there) and eventually caved in. Later OH said "fancy going for a walk?". I walked them off, so was quite pleased there.
I think I will move the weighing scales to the utility room as I like to weigh myself first thing Wed/Sun morning before breakfasting, but with OH at home now I often cant as he's still in the bedroom. This morning he went downstairs to make a cuppa so I shot out of bed like a woman possessed and got onto the scales before he came back up!
