not sure if it helps but as a asthmatic I cough a lot and the more you try not to the worst it gets, some days I think i should wear my inhaler around my neck to reassure people. Hopefully all should be OK, you could always make him self isolate in his bedroom. You know where we are if you need to let off steam I hope you read him the riot act for not thinking!
Izadora - I also have the WFH grazing complaint, I use to blame my colleagues for leaving cake etc into the office but I'm so easily sidetracked with my own kitchen cupboards and the food in them (not the healthy stuff unfortunately)maybe I need to move so I'm not facing the kitchen but have my back to it, but that would mean stretching my power cable across the floor and I'm likely to trip on it and go A over T
Sirens I think we have all had weeks where it's best to avoid the scales I know I have, sometimes I know if i weight it will depress me and I'll carry on eating because of ityou will all be surprised to know I'm not organised enough to notice those who don't weigh in and if you're lucky I'll record a lost twice, and really unlucky it will be a gain recorded twice
A planned hour meeting with our IT developers went on for 3 hours today and didn't finish until nearly 2pm by them i was desperate for a T & P not necessary in that orderand so hungry as I hadn't had breakfast. My sister phoned when I was on the call (she forgets some of us are still working) and called me back to take up my lunchtime catching up, my BIL isn't much of a talker but after over 40 years she's not going to change him I'm assuming they don't paid for day time calls

Good evening everyone
molly (hugs) all best wishes for your son, and for you and the rest of your family. As has already been said, there are all sorts of reasons the woman may have coughed, keep your spirits up, (and make sure he knows what an idiot he’s been).
Roundtuit I hope your day went well. So good to see you taking control of the situation and doing what’s right for you.
Ttb if you do go back to intermittent fasting you’ll be setting a fastpace for us! Go for it!
Izadora it’s the sugar in the wine that’s the problem, it sort of primes my system to want other sugar in other foods, sets up an expectation if you know what I mean. And sugar is just empty calories with an instinct to home in on my hips.monnagran I hope you found a satisfactory food strategy for today.
dumpling it’s such a good feeling when all the naughty stuff is gone
Brambling meetings are the pits, aren’t they. Especially when other people aren’t getting the external cues which would tell them when to wrap. Better luck tomorrow
Because of Senior Doggy’s early rising, I was too tired to do much today.
Doggy Munch of the day
Pre-breakfast: slice of cake (Senior Doggy is a very early riser)
B : porridge
L : jacket potato with baked beans; 2 tangerines
D : glass of sherry; chicken salad (chicory, radishes, watercress), glass of white wine; cinnamon yogurt
S : the rest of the cake, at least it’s all gone now.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

i forgot to put the potatoes on 🙄 so dinner was meatloaf with loads of runner beans, tenderstem broccoli and spinach - definitely had move than my five today 🙂. Just need to keep out of the kitchen for the rest of the eveningLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6 -
oh dear Blue_Doggy - the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak
I cannot believe that I wrote that this morning - shamed by my own words! I brought the Ryvita back home with me! I had a free lunch with a tuna mayo sandwich (so avoided egg or cheese). Then a colleague gave me a bag of mini chocolate eggs which I grazed on this afternoon whilst waiting for the phone to ring. Then I decided that I was going to follow Sirens example and not get weighed on Saturday and ordered pizza (oh my - more cheese!!!!) and chips,,,,, erm and onion rings for tea.
I will not write in advance how good I am going to be that day ever again - it attracts gremlins!
I've managed to make myself feel ever so slightly sick as I'm so full - hopefully that will be lesson learned (until the next time). I don't know about a wagon, I seem to have morphed in to a dustbin lorry today.
I'm not proud of my gluttony today, but it is lovely to have somewhere I can be honest, say I did this, I'll start again tomorrow, and not feel judged.
Stay safe lovely ladies

I have ordered a set of scales!! Ready to collect from Argos in sainsburys tomorrow. I suppose my walk tomorrow will be the long way round to sainsburys to collect said scales! Maybe they will have white rice (i am happy with brown rice) but my birthday is on Saturday and I want to do yellow turmeric rice for my 'party' - otherwise brown rice will suffice. I have fat free home made veggie curry in the freezer and will make a chicken curry for hubby and brother (not a gathering as brother lives with us). So my birthday meal will be staying in for a curry that I am cooking! I have ready made poperdoms and have a 2 person veggie Indian mix of Samoa, bargees and somthing else (hopefully the gannets will eat most of that). I have finally managed to find a bag of flour so there will be a cake - and I will have a slice - hopefully my home workers will demolish the rest of it!! I have cooking to do tommorow to get as much as possible ready in advance - i usually go out for a curry on my birthday- so this is birthday lockdown style.
I have a new dress to wear for the day - purchased it before lockdown - for a friends wedding that should have happened last weekend - but is now persponed untill this is all over (God willing as she is a nurse in our local hospital).
As some of you will know I started this journey to lower my blood pressure my last reading was 108/76 a massive improvement, and my resting heart rate is 83 down from 97!! As I am furloughed is it due to diet and exercise or just to not working, time will tell. I am taking time to do my 10000 steps per day but I do that walking to and from work in good weather.
Possibly not the best time to buy scales .. on the plus side I have worn the size 14 primark shorts today (when I got them in store they were tight) but now they fit.
Stay safe and well allDogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"10 -
Hello @Brambling
Can I join in please? I'd been putting on weight slowly each decade, but then about 5 years ago I started to seriously put on weight (menopause/stress etc) - and then woke up to the fact I was three stone heavier than I wanted to be. I've been struggling over the past four years to lose it and have gradually lost a stone by exercising mainly but could never lose weight on a diet. This lockdown has given me a bit of time to reset myself and so I'd really like to try and lose the last two stone to get me out of the overweight category on the BMI scale.
I'm so pleased to have found your thread as it will give me some good ideas and the motivation to keep going. Planning to read it all through this weekend.
My current weight is 13 stones and I am planning to reach 11 stones. So my first target will be to lose 10 lbs by the end of June.
Thank you. Looking forward to joining you all.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Welcome supersaver you will do very well here we are a very friendly and supportive bunch xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.8 -

Today I'll just have tea which will be lamb tagine with couscous. Apple c word for pudding - we will just do a one egg mix so there will be enough for 4 and wont be leftovers. Because I'm hopeless!!A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks8 -
Good morning all,
Thanks to my small shopping expedition on wednesday we now have fruit in the house. I spent an hour or so portioning everything up this morning so I can just grab a bag out of the fridge for a snack. I've put some of the shopping in portion sized bags in the freezer too - chicken breast fillets and the HT's sausage rolls. I feel more organised now.
The good news is that I am 1.5 lbs lighter this week. It must have been all the gardening that did it. At least if I'm outside fiddling with weeds and green stuff I'm not eating or being tempted to eat. I've been filling out MFP most days too, which does help me put the brakes on snacking. It's easy to underestimate how many calories are going in when you don't feel like you've eaten much.
Molly like Brambling I'm asthmatic. I usually have fairly bad hayfever too and need more than the "one a day" anti-histamine to get me through a day at this time of year. I've been coughing for weeks. Trying to cough quietly through a coughing fit in your own home so the neighbours don't think you have something nasty is interesting to say the least.
Welcome supersaver.
sillyvixen well done on the blood pressure.
roundtuit I think you do need a "cheat" meal here or there. The trick is not to let it become a cheat week I think.

Morning All,
Brambling That doesn't sound like a fun meeting. I forgot the potatoes the other night as well, unfortunately while they were boiling. We ended up with some rather soggy mash...
Blue Doggy I'd never considered the fact that sugar in alcohol adds to the cravings, I always thought it was just that it lowered my already pathetic willpower. I hope you've recovered from senior doggy's very early start
rounduit Best laid plans and all that... It does sound delicious though
sillyvixen You found flour!! That's like the holy grail around here. Well done for getting into your size 14 shorts and happy birthday for tomorrow
supersaver Welcome and well done on your loss so far
TTB Enjoy the apple pudding. There wouldn't be any leftovers here either, although probably not due to making a small one so much as my ability to put away an alarming amount
I managed to do not too badly with snacking yesterday but I think that was because I had a rather large dinner of odds and ends (mostly beige) from the freezer and was so stuffed that there wasn't even room for chocolate. I don't know if I actually am hungry at the moment or if I'm eating out of boredom and restlessness. While I know that staying home and safe is a good thing I'm finding the lack of social interaction and going out increasingly difficult and seem to be eating as a distraction.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx10
