NSD No 8
Ticked off my list today and must start another for tomorrow.
Thank goodness for the channel that shows all the old movies. It's keeping me amused although an Easter weekend of Himself laughing out loud at "Carry On" films isn't quite so inspiring although it does keep him amused and stops him asking me what I'm doing every five minutes. He absolutely loves these and all the "Pink Panther" films which go right above my head. He and the Boy say I've had a comedy bypass!
I had a few chats with some neighbours today. The construction of our block makes it easy to sit on the porch and still have a conversation with several people within the requisite distance. Most people are observing the rules but I do wonder, though, if everyone is actually understanding them. There is someone who lives at the bottom of the road who is having visitors who obviously don't live there and I know that she and her partner are young and don't have any health issues. It seems like it's just a social call. Maybe I'm being judgemental and a bit overzealous since I'm not going out at all.
So today I'm grateful for;
My brother's partner getting in touch for an online chat. They live in Canada and I hardly know her
Sunshine
The ladies who live in the sheltered housing across the road giving me a wave.
Friends getting in touch.
Stay safe and enjoy Easter,
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
Hi everyone
Another lovely day here in the NW. Had a lovely long sleep but still feeling thick headed. Have finished some work for my self employment role; awaiting payment of an invoice but most staff have been furloughed so not sure when it will arrive ..... Assuming they will still be paying invoices but guessing payments team are managing with skeleton staff.
Went for a walk with DDs - nice but hot! Was going to call into co0p but couldn't face queuing. So may be claiming a NSD... We are attempting a virtual Book Group later which should be fun!
Going to have an early night in freshly washed sheets.
hope everyone is doing ok

Toni'sFriend - I love Carry on and Pink Panther.Have stripped all the beds, washed and dried the sheets on the line along with another load of washing. Washed all the floors, cleaned the bathroom, re-made all the beds, dusted downstairs and our room and got kids to clean theirs. Cycled this morning which was exhausting.Had pizza for tea and am looking forward to a glass of red wine later.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Today I am grateful for birdsong, for getting on top of school stuff, for all of us watching a film together this morning, for more badminton, for finding some walking sandals and a jigsaw for my bday online, for dd writing a couple of cards to her friends, for a text from my sis.

Toni I've been seeing a lot of young people on my road still meeting up, in fact just saw someone having a visitor as I typed this. I feel like there will always be people who don't think the rules apply to them but what can you do? Although I'm sure it's not just younger people!
Today I went for a long walk in the sunshine and also made a start on some DIY jobs I kept telling myself I didn't have time forturns out they don't take so long after all! Am repainting our interior doors so just sanding and filling holes today while I wait for the paint to arrive, and have primed the handles too. We only have three doors as kitchen and living room don't have any so it's not that big of a job. OH doesn't get it, just says we should buy new ones! I also want to try repainting the kitchen cabinets whereas he wants a whole new kitchen! Perhaps he knows where the money tree is..... Also had the slow cooker on and did some reading. Just chilling with a glass of wine now.
Today I'm grateful for the beautiful weather; making a start on my DIY jobs; re-reading Game of Thrones (there are so many new things to pick up on that I missed first time round); a tidy house; for feeling pretty pain free for two weeks now.9 -
All my paperwork bundled up and into 'my room' first thing. Most of the day spent in the kitchen with breaks lying down to stretch out my back muscles. All manner of inventive salads made with the rather unpromising ingredients - apple peach and nut was one coarsely grated apple bulked out with one finely grated courgette, a few sliced peaches from a tin (rest into a jelly), nuts left in a bag of mixed nuts (about 8) and mayo thinned with juice from the tinned peaches. Found a handful of breaded mushrooms left from the 'C' shop. Looked suitably 'festive' and lots of leftovers to use as healthy snacks for the next few days.Washing dried outside (mum wanted a half cover from her bed washed and I've gone in the last 3 days trying to grab it before she made the bed). Not impressed by the tv offerings especially as they differed wildly from the listings (my tv viewing and screen time have both reduced to not much at all) but have lots of good books.Today I am grateful for 'eating the rainbow', good books, a firm bed, getting a lie-in (although waking at 5.30 am seems to be my regular pattern now), moving paperwork but keeping it in order (as far as I have sorted so far).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7

2 more NSDs in the bag. Went to smkt the other day (Weds) with a list - ended up spending £108! - ouch! (did include £15 on Easter/ bday, but even so.....!) Took about 3x as long to do the shopping - partly because of queues to get in and queues for tills and also the one way system - a nightmare if you forget something or the alternative to something you wanted that isn't there is then behind you! Still, most people were good humoured overall
And we still need more milk....!
Tidied/ cleaned garage today - decent amount of stuff gone, including a bike we put out with a 'free' sign at bottom of driveVery tired and achy now!
Thankful for: good weather, getting lots of things done, getting rid of things, yummy food, a refund arriving on Summer holiday villa (just another 7 things which need refunds still to arrive.... argh!), some of last Summer's clothes being loose on me now (yippee!), everyone working together to get things done (all together now in the style of Bob the Builder.....)

NSD 9/10 today
Grateful for the prospect of a day off tomorrow, getting my 10,000 steps in, chat with my brother, yummy risotto for tea and a relaxing evening with OH.

Friday- NSD 7, going nowhere certainly reduced the "I'll just pop into this shop" spends! The " bonus" of lockdown- my fuel spend this month is likely to be less than I would normally spend in a week-long got to look for silver linings somewhere.
Gratitudes- all much the same, sunshine, the garden, hitting 10000 steps again, all our pets being cuddly and loving, DD taking the whole change of routine and isolation pretty well- small melt down this evening but overall she seems to be coping well and enjoying having a huge amount of 1:1 time with no pressure to be going somewhere or doing something!10
