No chamomile, I'm afraid. I was hoping for crutches, a cast, strapping - in fact, anything dramatic would have done...!!

Did you not even get one of those things that go under your heel and look like salad tongs? That is all I got after my last ankle break - well, that and finding out I had done it at least 2 x before and not noticed (oops! - I always wear DMs or similar - just as good as a plaster cast ).I expect you to be treated like a queen for at least the next 24 hours. I will shift off the chaise longue so you can keep that foot up.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Why, thank you! It was almost 4 hours from doing it to being able to keep itproperly raised and put frozen peas on it, in which I could almost see the swelling expanding!Dd is my helper and I think I'll grow tired of her help before she does...I've remembered the arnica, so have used that, and had an epsom salts bath, so feel nearly human. Now I'm off to beddibyes.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Ouch that sounds sore apple.
Small spend today on milk and fruit so still on 9/20 NSDs. Grateful for getting out for a walk with OH, no queue at the shop, sitting in the sun with a g&t, getting the grass cut and pizza for tea.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Oooh, apple- hope that starts to feel better soon xx
DH went to shop today as we needed milk (we are buying as much as we can (allowed) at a time) and some more veg. Also got some good YS items as shop is shut tomorrow. Staff were handing out bottles of water to the queue, which was good
Thankful for: lovely weather (2loads line dried), a walk after dark with DH, YS shopping, using things up from the fridge, yummy home made iced buns and fresh hm breadI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £207 -
Saturday- still on NSD 7, had to buy more bread and rolls, shop had no milk again, so will have to stretch what we have until Monday or drive to a bigger shop tomorrow.
Gratitudes- a sunny day, a nice long walk, time in the garden- DD played on her trampoline while I potted until I ran out of compost, phonecalls from family.f0xh0les said:BadBookkeeper said:Received our gas/electricity bill they want to increase our payments by £40 a month!!Oh no! mine just emailed me to say I can have £20 off a month, down to £72 a month for gas and electric combined. Yay!I just spent 2 hours scrubbing a 1mx2m section of tiled flooring on my hands and knees. I should send myself to the naughty chaise longue. On the plus side I can tell where I stopped. On the minus side, there is plenty more to do, but I was losing the will to breathe. Will do another section tomorrow. I had already hoovered the whole house, and cleaned the bathrooms, and mopped the bathroom floors, all before lunchtime. Yep, I am that bored. I am officially a nightmare.
Finished a book this morning, so hoicked out another one to start this evening.Diet is going well, apart from me having to constantly distract myself from thoughts of baking, or eating, or cooking, or falling face first into a vat of caramel, or custard, I really am not fussy. I am trying to get to the next 'stone bracket' asap. 3lbs to go.Is it me or is the tv scheduling pretty darn dire this Easter???My wedding anniversary is 1st May, and I have the feeling this lockdown will still be in force, so give me some Turtle ideas of how to make it special while we are sandwiched together 24/7 with a 4 kid audience (the diet can s0d off that day ). Give me some suggestions, please!NSD7

Happy Easter turtles.I cut out letters and an egg shape last night, after mum had gone to bed. Went out as soon as the door curfew ended and put it outside mum's bedroom window with one of the stone rabbits and the littlest pot of pansies from the corner of the garden. Had already planned this but she appreciated the pot with hedgehogs (one in the pot and a mum and baby to the side) which I put there the other day. Now just to start the fairy house and garden. Not much will be getting done today. Spent hours in the polytunnel yesterday (it's only 2m x 3 m, we're not talking market garden here). I've assembled enough buckets and other containers to put 3 chilli plants, 3 bell pepper plants and possibly 6 tomato plants (limit on floor space until I do more shifting round) into their final containers. Checked on progress of all my seedlings and watered appropriately (watered the dry ones, moved the still cold and wet ones to positions where they will get more sun). Moved an old kitchen chair and a stool in there, each has a 'board' on top - the chair has a tomato, pepper and cjilli plant balanced in their pots, stool only has two. Brought all the toilet rolls inside so there's more wiggle room in the shed to get at the longer pieces of bathroom cladding (aka shelves and staging for the polytunnel/ garden). They are currently diagonal across the back of the shed (that's a mini 6' x 4' - 'shelves' are nearly 8' long by about a foot wide).Have 8 large tubs coming (for the fruit trees) and about 6 each of 2 different sized planters (14" diameter and 20") from the limited stock available. Still need to get pea and bean seeds (few plants on order) and things like nasturtiums - both leaves and flowers are edible, they look good, no trouble to grow and caterpillars (we're growing future butterflies as well) love them so hopefully will leave my cabbages alone. Want some marigolds to put with the cabbages (companion planting/ prevents disease) but I have £20 'gift vouchers' - signed mum up for a year's membership which gives her 10% off everything but they cross posted with my last order. No rush now, have lots I can be getting on with.Lots of garden centres seem to be closed (not experience just info from others bookface posts and the like) so are selling off whatever stock they have (to be collected by arrangement) cheaply. May help if you want decorative garden stuff rather than edible.Staggered back to the house last night when I could do no more (too many heavy buckets of water and think I have used about 120l soil/ compost). The pile of sacks in front of the shed is going down. Planning a lazy day - chicken is cooked and sliced (half put away for another day), stock and juices for gravy saved, potatoes done/ part done and will be using frozen veg (to make more freezer space for all the things I'm going to make with 'rest of the chicken'). We have strawberry jelly with peaches, quiche ready to be thrown together (mixed eggs and milk for two mini veg ones on Good Friday, shoved a few pieces of bacon in the microwave in between doing other things yesterday). Tandoori lumps have been cooked and divided into 3, have boiled eggs and peanuts to make egg and peanut roll, still lots of 'salads' and now have stuff to make more - so probably enough to do a 'rolling buffet' all week.So very gentle lazy day for me with perhaps a little potter outside later.Today I am grateful for sunshine (now it's moved so it's not directly n my eyes), enough food, reasonable survival skills (not going to be hunting and skinning rabbits any time soon), for creativity and adaptability, for still feeling ahead of the game, for being able to prepare for the months ahead where I can without going into a spiral of worry and depression, for having a reasonable supply of chocolate with nuts in to keep mum happy (I've hidden it).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10

apple - ouch, hope the swelling is going down a bit, arnica is fab for bruising, you'll have some lovely patterns soon.BBK - that is a heck of an energy hike, might be time to switch. When I've gone to the supermarket there seems to be plenty of milk and I am hearing horrible stories about it being wasted due to the lack of sales to restaurants etc. Yesterday we saw a guy collapsed on the floor with all his shopping around him, he was probably in his 60's and it looked like he had left Asda judging by where he was and the shopping he had, I imagine he had queued in the sun then gone into the cool slightly dark store and it was all too much. There were enough people there so we left them to it but it is best to take a drink and make sure you're not hungry when you go grocery shopping, and wear a hat if it is sunny.I made an online purchase a couple of weeks ago of a pair of Lucy & Yak corduroy dungarees, I don't buy much new stuff and am fussy about the retailers I do buy new from, these tick all the boxes, they arrived yesterday and I love them, am about to put them on and take the dog to the woods. It is interesting that I can hear cars on the road, where are people going today I wonder, isn't everything shut?Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Happy Easter to all
Had a successful shopping trip yesterday; bakers nearby is still open and still had bread and croissants at 2.45pm then went to the co0p for the rest of my list - very friendly staff and customersDrove so i could keep my car going. Went for an early evening walk when it was cooler which was nice. A neighbour offered free rhubarb so had a couple of sticks from her. Got lots of washing dry and DD1 and i did a tidy up of the garden. Had a nice chat with neighbour over the fence. He is a lorry driver and was furloughed for about 10 days but has now gone back to work - he's not keen and says the sites he delivers to are not observing distancing. Got my bag of summer clothes out of the garage and they still fit! Having an indulgent couple of days but then need to get back into healthy living; I'm 5lbs off getting to X stone - i haven't been less than that for about 2.5 years and I'm sure i could reach it if i focused.... DDs and i watched a new drama on Netflix. Agree 'normal' telly isn't very inviting but thankful for Netflix and catch up TV.
apple - hope your ankle isn't too painful
