!!!!!!, clear as mud. Where the frig do I stand?
I paid 2 direct debit payments totalling £1067. Holiday was for end of August. I cancelled this holiday on 13 March, got an email stating loss of deposit £400 but would get a cash refund of £667 in my bank in 3-5 days. I have had nothing. I have had no emails or any contact from Tui since. I have tried ringing but cannot get through. I have had no email about this refund credit or anything.
no idea what is happening.0 -
Hi, I wanted to know if anyone could help or give me some advice. I booked a holdiay package with tui due to travel 8th April and they said do not contact them as they will be in touch with those due to fly before the 16th April, so I honoured that expecting them to call. However today I received a email saying which is clearly automated stating they are giving me a refund credit towards another holiday and for good will an extra 20%. I do not wish to travel due to time restrictions with work and this time I would like a full refund. They did say though if we don't use the credit refund we will get a cash refund 12months from date of departure I find this hard to except considering Tui had a loan from the German government of 1.8 billion. I have spoken to a family member due to be away over Easter and they have had a full refund through the company they used and my friend got a refund this week from British Airways so I find it disgusting that Tui will not honour a cash refund now when other companies have.1

• You’ll receive a refund credit for the full value of your holiday, and we’ll give you a separate booking incentive up to 20%. We understand that you may not be ready to book again just yet, so the refund credit gives you the flexibility to book your travel in the future. Plus, if your original booking was for a package holiday, you’ll get a separate booking incentive up to 20%. Your refund credit will automatically be emailed to you within four weeks of your departure date. And, if for any reason you don’t book another holiday, we can change your refund credit to cash 12 months from your original departure date.
• Also, if your original booking was part of a package, your refund credit will carry the same ATOL protection. You can therefore be confident that you have financial security.
You can read the refund credit and separate booking incentive terms and conditions here.
•If you’re unable to accept a refund credit you can apply for a refund; however, we’re only able to process a refund for you once you have received your refund credit. You’ll need to contact our call centre using the details below. Just to remind you, our call centre team are incredibly busy, so call waiting times are considerably longer than usual. Please don’t call if you haven’t received your refund credit yet as our teams won’t be able to process your refund. You can call 0203 451 2868 between 9am and 7pm from Monday to Friday.

This has been discussed at length on this thread:Your thread will probably be merged into that thread at some stage.

And the answer is they WILL give you a refund. Lots of people on here seem to have struggled reading the statement TUI put on their website at 4pm yesterday.2

I wonder where TUI are up to in their refunds, they state that they working through them in date order..
I spoke to somebody on 21st March and received an email saying that my refund would be processed within 28 days. Today is the 28th day, has anyone got a refund which was arranged since 21st March?0 -

Joking aside, you can request a refund, but only once you've received your credit voucher, and you'll need to get in touch with them to do this:
• If you’re unable to accept a refund credit you can apply for a refund; however, we’re only able to process a refund for you once you have received your refund credit. You will need to contact our dedicated team using the details below, please be aware that our call centre teams are incredibly busy, so call waiting times are considerably longer than usual. And, please don’t call if you haven’t received your refund credit yet as our teams won’t be able to process your refund. You can call 0203 451 2868 between 9am and 7pm from Monday to Friday.

TUI are a disgrace, I've just been on their website and they're still accepting bookings for flights and holidays from 14th May.0
