  • Today we've got up, both done a ride on our exercise bike and walked a few miles for our outside exercise (it was really nice to go out earlier this morning, hardly anyone around)

We have however slumped back to the sofa and the pc though, got to hang the washing out in a minute as the sun is out here, so thought I'd pop the airers outside (sadly we don't have a washing line)
Got some shopping coming in a bit, it's a bit sad but I'm excited to have some new hair and shower stuff coming, so will be jumping in the shower in a bit and having a bit of a pamper....it's the little things that will get us through this.

Other than that, I might get the puzzle out in a bit and see if I can get any more of that done whilst I've got lots of light in the house.

Another one here who has no idea what day it is. I only remembered it was Easter this weekend because I've got two eggs sitting on the kitchen shelf for the two little ones down the road. My next door neighbour said this morning that she thinks every day is Saturday and she'd forgotten it was Easter.

I have to get myself into some kind of routine. I got a home delivery yesterday. Yes, it is awful when you get excited about your shopping being delivered.

Anyone want a bit of the apple pie I found at the back of the freezer?

oh yum - the promise of hot cross buns AND some apple pie - glad I popped in!

Totally get the excitement of nice new toiletries - I've been an on-and-off part of the "No Buying New Toiletries" thread on here pretty much since it started - and I've never BEEN so glad of my stash as I am at the moment! Might even get roud to using some nail varnish, the way things are going!

I see that the weather forecast is glorious for the next few days as well - windows open here again today and heating is ALMOST off - front room heater got switched off this morning and the hallway one is now on so low it won't come on at all I don't imagine - and that might get turned off altogether tomorrow at this rate.

I've started a list of things that I'd like to get done or that it would be nice to do while all this is going on - remains to be seen if I get around to doing any of them, mind!

  • Popping in with hot cross buns, excess easter eggs and some fruit (just to make us feel better)

Glad I'm not alone in the excitement of new toiletries! I enjoyed a relaxing shower and feel a lot better in myself now.

@southern_chick - it's definitely ok to work in PJs (as long as you're not expected on a conference call)  Luckily before lockdown Mr FTD treated me to several new PJs for my birthday (hadn't had any new ones for years) and now I have day PJs and evening PJs.

I was shocked to learn that it is Wednesday today, this week seems to have gone quite fast considering we haven't really done anything.  I'm off to do some colouring, I find that quite relaxing and much needed screen free time.

I booked some extra time off as I couldn't focus. I'm hoping to stew some apples so I can freeze them for use in an apple crumble at some point. Anyone for a bowl - with custard and ice cream?

Custard and ice cream SH - knew you were my kind of girl! I'm debating a Gooseberry crumble over the weekend although might well get some apple to stew to bulk out the goosegogs a bit as as far as I can recall the 2 (?) remaining pots in the freezer aren't that big. Allowing that this year's flowers are appearing on the bush in bud form now though it probably is time we used up last years!

The only thing better than getting new toiletries, IMO, is using up the ones you have so that you can justify the new ones in the first place! I finished a face wash last night and practically danced the tube to the bin - small pleasures!

Hopefully everyone else is sharing today's lovely sunshine and warm temperatures - we were out to T's first thing and it was just glorious - I was almost to warm walking back up the hill. MrEH has now added a further "essential shopping trip" to his day and combined it with taking his car for a couple of miles exercise as well as he's gone to get some stuff my parents need from Lidl - and will drop it straight to them afterwards.

  • @EssexHebridean I agree about using up toiletries, I found I had built a stash of 13 shampoos and conditioners, I'm down to my last conditioner!  Before pulling my act together, I wouldn't think twice about 'trying' a new shampoo nearly every month.

@savingholmes yes please to the crumble with custard AND ice cream, that would go down in a treat in my sunny garden this afternoon.

I used to do the using up toiletries thing on the Health and Beauty forum many moons ago. I have started today with a sample hand cream. Oh my hands, so dry and look so wrinkly, all the washing and sanitiser is playing havoc!

So bored today that I made Danish pastry and made cinnamon swirls from it. Very time consuming, but time is what I have plenty of. Feel free to dive in, they are very nice. I will be the size of a small elephant when this is over.

I have also noticed that I am wearing bag lady fashion now. Telling myself that I'm saving my decent clothes!
  • Well I did get dressed today .......I was in the office so thought I should!!!!! Got 3 days off now I think I’ll spend some time in the garden reading my book and trying to switch off from work.  As promised here’s some hot cross buns traditional and white chocolate and raspberry enjoy.

hope everyone is doing ok xx
