Oh the weekend! Does that mean it's really Sunday instead of just seeming like Sunday?
You're not alone treadingonplaymobile, my get up and go has gone too. As long as the kitchen and bathroom are cleaned and the bed's made I don't feel too slob-like2 -
Almost Sunday Piquant! Glad I'm not alone in the apathy situation. I'm hoping to try to kick myself into gear a tiny bit with the tamest little To Do list ever today.
DC1 is going to make cake for 'Saturday sweets' today (we normally visit the sweet shop in town but they've closed for the duration). The question is, classic Victoria sponge or chocolate buttercream?Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.

Is that a dairy cream sponge cake - if so I'm in.
It's raining here today but still bright. Back to work Monday from home - so need to make the most of my remaining 2 days off.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Ooh I wonder what cake @Treadingonplaymobil DC1 is going to make, I'd be happy with either to be honest....I haven't had a good cake in a long time!
How has Saturday shaped up for you lovelies?
We've had a lazy day (most of them are nowadays, I'm starting to get a bit fed up of them) I spent the morning doing a bit of colouring, played a bit of a computer game, did some reading, went for a walk and got some housework done.
I feel like I need to get in to some form of exercise routine, this lockdown life is really making me feel miserable.

DH managed to get SR flour (Aldi mid afternoon should you be wondering) yesterday so there will be cake and scones in this house today - happy to virtually share whatever it turns out to be. There hasn't been any cake since the start of the month when it was DS2's birthday and I used up the little I had, and then conserved the plain flour for pastry and dumplings. So today I shall enjoy being frivolous and making something yummy and non-essential.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Glad you got flour. We still have some left. I fancy coffee cake next although I did managed to get some Betty Cr0ck3r devil's food cake mix and fudge chocolate icing the other day.... Looking forward to making that soon - I even got some silver balls to decorate it with. DD gave me a big hug when she saw it as it is her birthday soon!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

We ended up with a classic sponge with whipped cream and jam. It was excellent! Far more excellent than the chocolate mousse I made last night to use up a load of double cream, which is basically a big bowl of chocolate truffle! Incredibly rich.
I still aspire to find bread flour - haven’t seen any on the shelves since this whole thing began. I can’t remember the last time I went so long without making bread!
I continue to feel a bit all over the place, but I’ve given myself the slowest possible week and that’s improving my mindset somewhat. Hope you’re all keeping well!

A friend of mine got bread flour and yeast for less than he pays in his normal supermarket in a local Asian store. Don't know if there's one near you but if there is it might be worth a try.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.2

De-lurking to say that Doves Farm are opening their online shop for a short time each weekday, they are only selling a baking box and a gluten-free box. I managed to order a baking box yesterday just after 10am, and within about 10 minutes everything was out of stock again.
My box is arriving today, it contains 6 bags of flour - one plain, one s.r. 2 bread flours and 2 speciality flours. Also one pack of dry yeast, although I won't use that. It is organic and there's a delivery charge so it does work out expensive, just under £16 all in.2
