No ethnic shops of any sort where I live sadly, miss them so much from when we lived in London, but flour is definitely creeping back in. Had to go into town today - first time in about 4 weeks - and B&M and M&S had SR and plain flour. Apparently there had been strong flour too, so I wonder if it's a case of supplies catching up with the demand and eventually we'll get the bread flour too.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Flour is back in our local shops but eggs keep coming and going! However, the 200g Lindt bunnies were reduced to 35p each last week so I am well stocked with chocolate - I'll leave some on the counter

@Treadingonplaymobil that sponge sounds delightful, wouldn't mind some of that chocolate mousse too...sounds right up my street.
I'll try and pick up some flour on this week's shop, I miss homemade bread so much.
@GeorgianaCavendish question is, were there any white Lindt bunnies? apparently they are delightful! Apparently there is still loads of easter chocolate in the stores, guessing people pick them up as impulse purchases and haven't added them to their usual planned shops.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

They did have the white choc ones @findingthisdifficult but I only bought the classic milk chocolate ones
I wonder if all the warnings against going out just for Easter Eggs put some people off buying them at all?

I am lucky in that I can get eggs and flour from work, it's a perk I guess. I haven't had chocolate for ages, normally I just pop out for some but not at the moment, people are making me edgy!2

Hello! I hope there’s room for one more in this café? I’ll even share my flour
(SR, BBE Nov 2019, but I opened it last week and there were no weevils, and I suspect I have plain flour lurking in the cupboard too!)
I seem to have gone off chocolate though. Picked up an Easter egg in the sales during essential shopping, but it took me a couple days to eat it, and I still have the Smarties tubes that came in the box. I also bought chocolate bars to make fudge with, and pre-lockdown me would’ve scoffed the lot already but I just don’t seem to have an appetite for chocolate any more. What is this sorcery?!
Thanks @EssexHebridean for this great idea! 🥰My Debt Free Diary: ADHD and Frogs: How to Balance the Budget?Challenges: Virtual VSP (#23) 1,000 EF (#pending)2 -
Morning gang! <puts the kettle on>Ok, so they had 16kg bulk bags of strong white flour in Morrison’s yesterday. Let’s just say I’m set for bread flour for a little while.Santiago99 I can genuinely say I have NEVER experienced going off chocolate. Or sugar in any form really.
Feeling quite positive today - the sun shining always helps! And XH has the DC so I’ve got a few days to crack on with work. Had a lovely long walk yesterday evening too. Hope you’re all doing well and keeping healthy.Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.2 -
Anyone else having a weird apathy when grocery shopping? I went out last night for the first time in nearly two weeks, and although I had a list and the shop was pretty well stocked, I came away missing a fair few items. It was not helped by someone bimbling up and down one particular aisle, getting in everyone's way....but still, nothing was really appealing to me. I don't think it helps that it was a wee Mr S local, and not a 'proper' supermarket. I'll try another (still very local) shop next week.
On the plus side, during my adventure out, I noticed the city streets have never looked so clean! There's no litter, no fag ends, no evidence of the usual human detritus - that was really nice. Oh how the little things please me3 -
I noticed a road sweeper in our local area and wondered what they were actually sweeping up as it was all so clean 👍I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
