I found the same in Aldi on Friday, SA. They did have a limit on number of customers, but still only had two tills open, and only a couple of self-serve tills, so the queues were all the way to the back of the store! Near on impossible to keep a two metre distance then when there's people all the way down the aisles queuing

Oh SSDD23 what a nightmare with the car - fingers crossed the mechanic has turned up and it's not too pricey to fix, and yes indeed, definitely get hold of them about the service too, there's something wrong there. You feel free to get stuck in to the cakes - I reckon you need them!
Ugh to Iceland then SA - I'll be avoiding ours, although it's not a convenient shop for me at the best of times as it's in the town centre - we usually get there on foot so not ideal for buying anything frozen really! The T's I was in on Friday had a clever idea - single queue outside as you might expect, but then when it came to time to pay they also had a single queue for the tills with "Spotters" from the staff along the till-line to cal out the next number to the front of the queue. Moved really fast and far better than finding yourself stuck behind that annoying person who's apparently shopping for a family of 17 and is going to argue the toss all the way about how many of everything they can have!

SSDD23 - what a nightmare spend! I really feel for you. Here have a portion of sticky toffee pud, extra toffee sauce?
I went to Aldi no problem getting in the queue was small, the problem was the queues for the checkouts. Although two metres apart my queue went down the bread aisle so people were just cutting in to buy bread. Thus cancelling out any distancing

I've managed to stay at home and either have deliveries or send DS (22) in. He's not had to queue to get in and other than for the chemist, few queues.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality by mid 2030

After discussions on MSE - I've just checked out my local farm shop and I can pre-order by phone, pay and they will leave it at a safe distance from your car when you go to pick up. Sounds promising.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality by mid 2030

That sounds good @savingholmes! The local ones here are snowed under with orders, but there are a few veg boxers taking orders from new customers.
Is anyone else finding it really hard to keep track of the days? I was convinced it was Wednesday all day today, and got a little frustrated with someone who didn't join a call...which is actually scheduled for tomorrow. Luckily they saw the funny side when I apologised for the slightly shirty message I sent them!

I have no idea what day it is, they all feel the same in our house, it's the weekend every day.
Mr FTD and I had words today that we need to make an effort to complete a task around the house and get outside every day. It's too easy to waste the days away just playing on computers, watching tv and scrolling mindlessly.
Hope you're all well and keeping safe.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

I was the same when I was off for 7 weeks earlier this year with a broken leg. Obviously I was a bit limited as to what I could do but I hated wasting time on not doing much. A tad miffed I was only back at work 4 weeks before I was locked down again. Working from home takes up a lot of the day but still feel the need to make the most of it somehow.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

FTD we're being quite strict about trying to keep to routines - obviously at the moment we both have work to factor in as well but even on weekend days we've agreed that we'll get up by a specific time, and structure what we do through the day between "doing stuff" and just general relaxing. I really need that level of routine around me - I'd not realised how much until all this came along!
And yes to days of the week! It had completely bypassed me that it was Easter weekend coming up until the start of this week!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
