Also, I wonder what the position is regarding being entitled to compensation under european regulations.
no to EU261 compensation - as confirmed by the European CommissionThe Commission considers that, where public authorities take measures intended to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, such measures are by their nature and origin not inherent in the normal exercise of the activity of carriers and are outside their actual control.
Article 5(3) waives the right to compensation on condition that the cancellation in question “is caused” by extraordinary circumstances, which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken.

simon_r said:We have flights booked on 23rd and 30th May. Presumably these are captured by EZ's two month grounding of fleet.
However we have not been notified of cancellation, and the flights are still open for booking on the website - so we can't even request a refund yet.
Does anyone know how far out flights are being officially cancelled?0 -
I managed to click on the EU compensation claim and claimed for both flights for four people (not even all related). The forms submitted ok - apparently I'll get a confirmation email in 24 hours. Like other MSE watchers I was unable to get through on the phone, find an email and it was a difficult holiday to rebook as we are three households. Can't now work out how I found the link.0

The EU compensation is for Euro 600 per passenger. The irony is a simple refund would have been enough but I guess cash flow at Easyjet a problem Feel bad in a way as every claim chips away at this airline's chance of survival0

The form is EC261. It's on the delays and cancellations page under claiming your compensation. Let's see if it delivers

@HoxtonMum:
I am confused why you are making reference to a compensation claim under Eu261. You do realise that the compensation you refer to is not payable in this circumstance?1 -

The European Commission has already confirmed EU261 compensation is not applicable - Easyjet should correctly reject your compensation claims
Frustrating as it is, if you want a refund for a cancelled flight you need to wait on the phone. I had flights cancelled last week and have not been able to get through, I have stopped trying now leaving them to concentrate on passengers that need imminent help. I will try again in a couple of weeks.0 -

Has anyone had any luck with Santander helping with a chargeback on a debit card?
Thanks to all the angels who post! :A0 -
My flights to Hamburg on the 20th March to Hamburg were cancelled and I did manage to get a refund option when trying to cancel. I got the refund being processed email and it still shows if I log onto my booking but 2 weeks now and no refund in the bank. I know they are busy but it shouldn’t take 2 weeks to process a refund.0
