I want to have this booking cancelled and have a refund. Does anyone know if more info is available yet to say whether I can do this or not?
no right to a refund from the airline unless they cancel the flight. Keep checking your booking until then (my 2 Easyjet flights last week were both cancelled 2 days in advance)
Depending what the FCO situation is at time of travel you may be able to claim on your travel insurance if the flight is not cancelled but there are restrictions in place - it will depend on your policy details
  • I just had the amount of my flights credited to my account after opening a dispute with my card provider.  I submitted the claim with my bank on Friday 27th, the day I had been due to travel.  Pleased to have a resolution.
Was this a debit card or a credit card?   I've paid with debit card so did not think I could claim from card provider?   It is a visa debit card..

Mine was booked with a Mastercard Debit, so it looks like the same rules still apply - good or services not received.
  • They are also offering a voucher for the value of the flight. This only lasts 6 months, which is no good, as they released autumn/winter flights early, so most people (including myself) will already have booked, making the voucher option no good. Would trading standards be an option? They owe me for 6 cancelled flights and are clearly hoping I just go away.
  • Has anyone else recieved a refund in full after requesting a voucher?  This person is saying they requested the voucher but got a full refund.      I am worried about doing this in case i get the voucher.

Original flight date 29.03.20, email fro Easyjet saying flight cancelled was few days beforehand, went online to request voucher 27.03.20, got email confirming refund will be processed same evening, money returned 31.03.20

    I wouldn't do that. From easyjet's website:

"Some booking types might not be eligible for a voucher and therefore a refund may be issued instead. If you made your booking via a tour operator, travel agent or OTA please contact them directly to get your voucher or refund. We are not responsible for any third party fees"

Iirc, the booking referred to above was via a 3rd party, so probably falls into this category.
  • We booked our flights to Madeira last October and I have been unable to find a flight to suit us in the future. How can we contact Easyjet to find out how to apply for a refund. I have trawled through the EJ website and cannot find manage disruptions anywhere. The phone lines are constantly busy.

I have flights booked 5 May - 15 May - LGW/Faro and have been offered a free transfer up to February 2021 however, all of a sudden our fair priced flights will double in price! and it's already very difficult for us to change to other dates too.  I've looked on their website and it would appear that we can't cancel and get a full refund, is this right, given I'm thinking if we hold off, we may well get full refunds nearer the time.  Not sure what would be best to do, any and all advice would be appreciated.  Thanks.
  • My flight was due to depart on 4th April.  I eventually managed to speak to customer services on Monday morning, and was promised a refund within "3 to 5 working days".  I was given a reference, but have not received any email confirmation. Am not sure if I should go through the paid of calling again now, or just wait for a week to see if the refund arrives.  Has anyone actually received the money back without receiving an email confirmation of refund?

    Thank you
  • I booked a flight with easy jet and cancelled it with in 24hrs, they sent me an email saying they'd refund me £79.99, instead of refunding me they took the money out of my account, because of the coronavirus I am unable to contact them, didn't know they could take money from my account without authorisation.
