My suggestion is, even if your flights had been cancelled whilst there was still the option to click 'refund' and you chose a refund but the email that you got did not have "Refund of £X" in the Payment details section, that you are going to have to call easyJet.

    Here's a bit more detail:
Our flights were cancelled and, at the time (15 March), there was the option to select 'refund' which we did.  We got an automated email a few minutes later saying our refund was being processed.
As we hadn't yet had our refund, I phoned this morning - on the 0330 365 5000 number.   Spoke to very helpful lady who checked my details and said that I would get our refund within the next 5 days.
The interesting part was that I then got an email which - in the Payment Details section - had entries showing "Refund of £XXXX to Visa on 03/04/2020" as well as "Payment of £XXXX by Visa on dd/mm/yyyy".
This had not been on the first email I got on 15 March.  That first one just had entries for "Payment of £XXXX by Visa on dd/mm/yyyy".
    Hope this helps

PS: When I phoned I did get "please call back later" a few times but finally did get in the queue. Positive point: the wait time was 25 minutes which was much less than I was expecting.

    Question.
We had a family holiday booked for May - it was a package holiday booked through Easyjet which cost over £3000 and to be honest could do with that right now but we haven't had a cancellation email only the one saying you can change it at no cost and 10% off.

    Any ideas?

After seeing a similar situation to mine on here - flight cancelled in mid March with an option in the app for a refund which I selected but nothing since then.
I called today Easyjet and (eventually) got through to a hassled but pleasant and efficient lady who processed the refund. No email conf yet but was told to expect it to my credit card on Monday. Don't give up with the call centre, took me at least  20 attempts to actually get in the queue but after that the wait was short <5mins.

What sort of ideas do you want?  Presumably you can sit tight and if it's cancelled, get a voucher (or refund if they offer it), or take up the change offer?

Surely it will be cancelled, so best to start thinking which option would suit you best when the inevitable happens.

Well anybody in maybe the same boat who have spoken to Easyjet.
I did read that they have grounded all the fleet till June at the earliest so doubt we'll be going in May! but then again no cancellation email so maybe we will!

Still had no chance to request a refund from Easyjet. The app also does not allow this, am I the only one?

only way is on the phone....I try a few times each day to get through (cancelled flights were last week) not had any success yet
  • I have resorted to the "old ways" and sent Easyjet a letter asking for a refund. I couldn't see any other way. I had an Insurance with Easyjet (Zurich). Guess what, null and void in a pandemic also with another company, same response. It will be interesting to see if we get a response.
  • can anybody help me - im trying to call 0161 774 9879 from Australia, is there a code that i need to put in? I tried calling this number and it wont go through. Perhaps a code or international code that i need to dial first.
    Thanks
