Morning all. Different times were all waking up to today. However, I need to keep on with the small things as they are one of the few things at the moment in my control. Today's list:
check banking and update YNAB
bake cake
deliver some items to 2 friends that we have been gifted that we have an excess of. Will just leave on their doorstep obviously
more knitting
fix DD bed with stuff we got down from loft yesterday
bag up some rags for charity shop (and put in loft until they are open again)
bag up some clothes for friends small that I sorted yesterday too. She doesn't need them yet so I'll just hang on to them for now
home pedicure
check PMP
have a good day all purps.

Morning folks
Struggling to get my work pc connected today. I have a bit of work to do which is good. I hope everyone is ok after last night's announcement.
Last night OH really wanted some biscuits so we made some using up a bag of peanut flour that we had (need to save normal flour for bread!). While we were cooking, I got a phone call from my dad off his mobile (just to put this into context, the last time this happened was when he let me know mum was out of the operating theatre for her op 2 years ago). He was very sweet and said that if we need any money, just to let him know. My dad is not known for his grand gestures so I was very touched
Will be back with a list soon. I just need to wrestle with this computer...B/L/D from stores. We have enough to last a while. I told OH that once the milk was out, he would have to make his porridge with water or have something else - done
Do workout sent by the gym in the garden - done
Wait with bated breath to hear the next installment of our work fates - a nothing much new email.
Try very hard to get my heart rate down - getting there
OH desparately trying to get through to UC - gave up and went back to sleep. EDIT: currently on hold.
Crochet
Stay safe everyone

Morning allStrange times we are living in.....Determined to keep busy and positive. Today I have / will:Walked dog before 6am, won't go out again today. OH can go this afternoon / evening. Saw only one other dog walker, from a distance. Quite a lot of cars about though!Porridge for breakfast, as usual. I have plenty of porridge and use only about 46g per serving, so a packet from Lidl lasts me ages. Also had a banana. Must investigate freezer again to see if there is any fruit left. I think there are a couple of bags of raspberries!Cut up the cake I made yesterday (wanted chocolate, but didn't have any, so made a chocolate cake, with cocoa) and put it away in the tinClean bathroom, wipe down stair rails, clean sink, worktops, stove top, inside of kitchen window. May do more cleaning (not my fav) but will do at least this!Sow some more seeds in the greenhouse, and start off some sprouting seeds in the kitchenCheck banks and update spreadsheetI have decided to park RM surveys for now - hardly essential at this time! They really should suspend it.I have some leftover cold meat out of the freezer for lunchtime rollsDinner will be pesto pastaStay safe everyone!7

Morning all.
Sorry for being awol for a while, Hope everyone is doing ok, despite the current situation we find ourselves in.
I have been working from home for the past week, so although I'm saving on petrol I'm using more energy etc as home so need to be mindful of what I using. So today I have/will:
* Check banks
* Heating only on in the morning and evening as would normally happen
* Not flush loo every time I go!
* Only drink tea/ water as I would normally at work (i.e. keep squash for evening)
* Listen to the radio via my laptop to avoid having another device running (can't work in silence!)
If anyone has any other ideas for keeping energy/ resource use low during the day, please let me know!
* Check PA for surveys
* Cash out PA (use to build up emergency buffer)
* Cash out zipzero
* Eat leftover pasta for lunch
* Write meal plan and shopping list - although not sure how much success I'll have! Haven't been in 10 days (and only bought normal amount then), I just really don't understand who is still buying all the supplier as from what I've seen the shops have been crazy for weeks!
* Stir fry for dinner using beef that needs using up
* Check out wool stash and write list of projects I can complete to keep me entertained (think my only issue is eyes for my crochet animals, but maybe I could just use black wool)
* Write list of decorating supplies we "need" (i.e. to keep OH from going nuts once he can't work)
Can't think of anything else at the moment. Thoughts are with everyone who is affected in all different ways at the moment.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,435.00
Total paid off - £10,165.89 (65% paid off)10 -
Hi all, forgot to post this yesterday! I hope everyone is at home if they can be and safe at work where they can't. Thanks for reminding me to be grateful CLF -my little gratitude list is we are in work and being paid, we have a house and a garden so we can get outside, and because I stocked up at the end of Feb we can survive on stores for a couple of weeks if we need to. Just as well given the last announcement!
This week: the aim is to spend nothing.
In theory, going nowhere means I spend nothing but actually I have still bought fuel and two lots of thirty quid food last week. How?? Just being at home more and snacking/drinking decaff more. More milk, bread and incidentals. If I was off work I might bake some snacks but I’m still fulltime, just in the house.
So no lattes out, but many many coffees in at my desk. DD has provided an at-seat service today so that's lovely!
-Still not payday til the end of the week. -when it’s payday I will be getting a takeout from our local Indian because by then we will be desperate for variety as we will have been inside all week. UPDATE I guess I won't :-( if they have been shut.
-check my last payment for March goes out OK -DONE
-CELEBRATE having paid off £1000 off my debt since the high point in December (-Celebrate by staying in the house doing nothing different lol)
I’m also actively managing my anxiety at the moment. The stressful situation with the virus and all its changes has weakened me a little but I am doing well generally. Seeing my debt reduce is helping me feel in control.
We will just have to play it by ear with DH and I working full time in the house and DD at home too. So far she’s being very positive but I’m sure she’ll get bored and frustrated with no school and no friends to play with. We’ll just have to see how it all goes and try to be easy on ourselves.
What else can we do? Stay safe everyone,
TryingAgain2022

Hello Everyone
At the weekend we ordered dd a birthday present fully paying with vouchers from our just for points credit card. We also qualified for free delivery and the item was 30% off. Lots of wins and dd will be happy.
Today's plan:
Home educate children
Record all recent spends
RM survey
Check bank accounts
Update freezer inventory
B/L/D from stores, being careful with portion sizes & preventing food waste
Adjusted heating in the room where OH is working, so it is on at the times he will be using the room, thankfully we are able to set the time & temperature for each room independently. The temperature will be set so you can sit and type but you will still need to wear a jumper to be comfortable
Get out in the garden and enjoy the sunshineFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family8 -
Today I have/will:
1. Checked online banking
2. Washed and disinfected greenhouse glass inside and out, washed all shelving
3. Washed down patio set
4. Paid bills online
5. Meals from stores
6. Organise meal plan for next week, look in freezer to see what needs using up
Stay safe & stay home guys💕

First day of being at home for me today. I have kept busy doing a bit of housework, a bit of school work and going out for a walk with ds - dd refused to come as it was too cold. I expect she'll change her mind after a couple more days in the house.
Plans for the day were pottering about the house and clearing the mould from the bathroom. Except when I cleared the mould a load of sealant came off in my hand. I've had a hilarious attempt at replacing it with a bottle of sealant I found from last time my stepdad replaced it for me. Looks terrible but I think it will at least be waterproof which is the most important thing. I hope anyway because the last thing I need is for the bathroom floor to collapse again. I wish I could afford to have it replaced (the whole bathroom - not just the floor) but that's a long way off - so at the moment I need clean and waterproof. That will do.
DD has done loads of school work. DS has done far too much Xbox and moaning and I think I've done more than I would in a full day at work. Win-win.
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control
